Does this game always corrupt save files?
Whenever I play this game I ALWAYS lose save files no matter what. What about you?

Your C drive is not full, is it? Also check it for errors.

Saves location: %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\id Software\DOOM 3 BFG\base\

Plus if your username has non-english characters you might have problem
(Shameless Ad time : But NOT if you have Classic RBDoom 3 BFG which has support for non-english characters (something that even DOOM 2016 doesn't have))

Check to see if you have any virus, malware, worm, trojon, and other nasty stuff. These can delete and corrupt your files. Update virus scan before scanning. Use other programs that you have or download free version to scan. If the scan comes clean go to command prompt left click and run as administrator. In the window of command prompt type "sfc /scannow" with out the quotation marks also there's a space after sfc. Hit enter. This will scan through your computer to find any corrupt files to fix. It will also tell you how many files it couldn't fix and tell you where to find them on your computer.

What? I have the worst craptop in the world and it runs Doom 3 bfg flawless. Never heard of this issue before. I even uninstalled and Reinstalled the game. Tested a few things. No bugs. Even tried BFG on GoG. Same Result... No bugs. Flawless game play. Didnt have to change anything in files or mod. Not sure if windows 10 matters. Im running windows 10 right now..

Doom 3 BFG and Doom (2016) can't read directories with non-ascii (english) characters. Many programs has this issue and in all cases the symptoms are:
1. Unable to create/update files inside that directory (or sub-directories)
2. Unable to access any of it's files.

Both of these two games usually save their games in <username>/Saved Games/Id Software/<name of the game> or in <username>/Documents/MyGames/Id Software/<name of the game>.

As you can see if the <username> folder has AT LEAST one non-ascii character then neither of these two will be able to create/update or access any save file.

P.S.: I mention previously my port since it has this issue fixed.
