Multiple endings depending on your choices
Nope, all the same. Played through several times with all entire opposite choices in all 5 episodes and everything plays out the same. Stole the goods in the car in EP2 that the Campman is so mad about? Doesn't matter because even if you didn't he says the same except for "you stole it" it changes to "your group stole it".

Always been nice to Vernon and the cancer group? Don't matter, you could have also threatened to kill them they still would have stolen the boat. All that changes is one line in the letter. Went alone or took people with you to cancer hidehout? Don't matter, everything plays out the same.

Heck, even the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ending (clem in the fields, 2 silhouettes in the distance) is the exact same no matter what you had ever done or not done.

WEAKSAUCE!

I would understand why they can't make every choice to have super influence as they would branch out too much and they had to develop the game in many different scenarios... but at least, AT LEAST give me a unique ending. After seeing multiply of my opposite playthroughs not only play out the same, but also END the EXACT same way I gave up on the whole "your choices matter"-bs.

My rant.

They are working on a second season. It is very possible that this second season involves Clem (as well as those two silhouettes). If they had allowed multiple endings, the beginning of the second season wouldn't be consistent with the first.

Pretty much, yea.

Wow... just wow. I am greatly disapointed. I mean it was a great run the first time through, but wow to know that not a single thing will change no matter what, really makes me mad. I loved my ending for what I did, but now it makes it seem like everything I did doesn't matter in the long run. I mean I feel like the 3 endings there could be is:

A. Clem goes to country and sees two figures

B. Clem stays in city by the docks and a boat slowly aprouches her (the guys from the clinic most likly)

or

C. Clem becomes a loner of sorts and travels to a new city/ area and the scene ends with her looking at a new city (something iconic)

Unforntunatly they are making a second season which I believe is going to start where this one ended, soooo it would be really hard to start a new game with 3 possible starts, and then also have it so new players would not be able to join in without playing the first(though I dont know why they would, but this is coming from a guy who bought Mass Effect 2 first then 1 after).

Well I agree that it's lame there isn't different endings depending on some of the big choices. But I think the choice thing was more for the character, like if you were a cold hard bastard or a nice caring gentleman. That beginning thing saying how the game changes how you play is b.s. though.
Yukami Nov 22, 2012 @ 12:10am
It seems more like it changes the dialogue rather than how you play too.

I agree with cantdoright. I'm very dissapointed to see one and only ending no matter what decisions I made. It's realy difficult for TT to make to many variations. But if TT wants to be on the top and to be fare with their funs they must find a way some how to make us feel that all our decisions changed something. I understand that is much more work for them but don't forget they more the work and make possibilitys like multiple endings the more interest the games have so more to buy and ofcourse more income for the company. And we dealing with millions of dollars here

Are you guys stupid or just pretending? The cliffhanger in the end was made on purpose, and how it will play out in the next season depends on what you told Clem and others in the last ep. These two figures could be Christa and Omid, or they could be some other people, or maybe even walkers. And Clem - Clem may either approach them or run away, and it's all connected to how you handled your last wishes.

So don't give us any of that "boo-hoo all the endings are the same" crap. Also, the whole 5 episodes have vastly differing storylines depending on your game choices. Yes, "vastly", considering that Telltale can't comply with some players' fantasies of having 5 games in one. The journey is the same, but the routes differ, and, compared to most other games these days, this is pretty impressive.

what a load of ♥♥♥♥ about choices effecting gameplay. Maybe certain dialogue or who goes with you at the end but wtf....thats it? ending the same who dies dies and thats the end of it? This is just pure and simple false advertisement. But because I am sure there is some fine print of how the game doesnt completely change blah blah it has the same ending no matter what blah blah deal with it. They are in the safe zone. None the less this company better watch out because season 2 if it doesnt have good reviews after episode 1 chapter 1.1 it will fail before episode 1.2. HARD I understand the hard core fans of Walking Dead but I feel like this game left us just handcuffed to a tank with a heard coming at us saying well what you say next might change the outcome. when what really happens is we all become really dissappointed with the end...I will play the second season episode 1 but if its as predictable as season 1 then I give up on the walking dead game genre

Agree with full. TT made a nice faulse advertisment claiming for different game play to earn more money. If episode 1 in season2 is one of the same this is the end of me and TT game

Pretty much this..

Yeah maybe the end was 'the same', and even if this isn't how it goes. The fact is this had me thinking about my choices more than any game I've ever played. When I was playing, even at the fifth episode where it was obvious how choices could effect things whatever you said, I still struggled with things. Not because I knew they'd have a huge effect at the end. But because the game was so emotionally involving I literally HAD to hesitate on things and think them over.

Sure it's not ended up how everyone hoped, maybe some people expected them to be able to change way more than was possible to tie together for everyone, but it was one of the best experiences I've ever had in a game. And I can't wait for the second season...as long as it sticks with Clem!..

We better have control over Clem next time! But I would not accept it if they try to kill her off...or cut off one of her limbs.

Sure, the end's pretty much the same for everyone (which also isn't true, for instance, what happens to Lee is up to the player), but it's all the things that happen between the beginning and the end are important. Seriously, you're missing the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ point!

Do i feel pissed by the fact that my choices did not shaped my game (as advertised) and that the end was a little bit disapointing? Yes, a little bit.
Do i regret purchasing and playing walking dead? Certainly not.
It was one of the most intersting and emotionally involving video game experience i had for a long time, and i have to thank TT for that. I really look forward for sequel, and i really hope they will improve that concept.
Go for the gun, Clem.... Always go for the gun first.....

Whenever you begin an episode it says that "the game is tailored by how you play" so some people (like me) feel that there wasn't that much difference in story wise when we replay. But, you do make point that it is about the jouney since this is Season 1 and we're not even close to the real ending of this game.

So we should seeing our choices making a difference in Season 2 rather than expecting some in Season 1.

Still, it could have been done differently. If you really wanted someone to live they could have lived and set it up with Clem still the same way at the end. Just leaving them behind instead of dead. Some people you wanted to kill could not be killed, perhaps they will show up in S2.

Still I understand the way the story goes anyone can die no matter how much you feel invested in that character.
