How to make this game feel (even more) awesome.

Running on a pretty powerful rig, and this not being an FPS or a game that requires hair-thin reaction times, I decided that running this game at 100+FPS actually HURT the experience. It made it feel too much like a "video game" and completely broke the immersion factor.

Don't get me wrong, everything about this game is fantastic, but the uncapped frame rate just hurts the overall experience, since this is trying so hard to emulate a "film/tv" sort of feel.

If you can run this game at a lower resolution (or bathe it in tons of AA to make it look "fuzzy") and limit your FPS to <30 (preferably 24fps to match a "film" look) this game feels fantastic.

Here's how I did it (nVidia GTX 670, 144hz 1080p Monitor):

- Use the nVidia Inspector and choose "The Walking Dead" profile
- Scroll down to the VSync option
- Change your settings to get it close to 25-30fps as possible

For mine, since my monitor is 144hz native, I turned the refresh rate down to 100hz and set the VSync option to 1/4 refresh rate, this forced the game to run at 25fps (as close to film as you can get). You could also achieve this by setting the option to 1/2 Refresh Rate on a 60hz monitor (30fps, which is the TV framerate).

Once I tweaked this, the game "felt" infinitely better. Like I mentioned before, I jacked up the AA to obnoxious (read: fuzzy) levels. For me, I used 2x Multisampling with Transparency Multisampling on set at 2x Sparse Grid Supersampling, then turned on FXAA. This doesn't "antialias" the edges so much as it does blur them. In some games this can make the text look mushy and blurred, but for this game it's totally appropriate.

Anyway, I just finished Episode 2 and I have to say I'm loving it; tweaking the graphics has really helped the experience.

Still works, don't see how it would make a difference with this type of game.

er you play it again with different diaologe which lead to different cut scene ? i know there are more than dozen of different cut scene and out come, you need to play like 6 times or more to be able to see through them all
