The Walking Dead
How often are the telltale games on sale?
Hi there :)
I'm going to buy this game, but i was wondering if any of you could tell me how often they are on sale?
One of the biggest problems on steam is that these 75% sales happens so relatively often, that you're basicly giving away your hardearned money, if you buy the game for full price..

I dont think 22 dollars is alot for a game like this, but i cant stand the thought of me buying it, only to see the game go for 25% of the price a few days after :P

It was on 75% sale only a week ago. So I guess it won't be on sale for a while.

At least once every other month - IF - you follow the other online game stores like GamersGate, Green Man Gaming and Humble Store. Often those stores have deeper discounts than Steam do. You can purchase a game from one of those other stores, and then redeem the purchase at Steam. If you prefer to keep your games on Steam, make sure the game is redeemable at Steam. Make sure the DRM is listed as "Steamwork" before you make the purchase. (The Walking Dead series uses Steamwork, regardless of from where you buy the games.)

Here are some websites that keep track of sales at Steam and those other stores:

http://isthereanydeal.com/

http://deals.razerzone.com/

I bought The Walking Dead Season 1 from GamersGate and then redeemed it at Steam. If you check with isthereanydeal.com, you can find out that the lowest price of The Walking Dead Season 1 at Steam was $6.24. However, that was not the lowest price ever. The lowest price ever was $4.99, which was at GamersGate.

Which is why I decided not to buy The Walking Dead Season 2 here when it was 75% off last week on Steam. I expect to get it at 80% off or more elsewhere, later and likely soon.

Thanks! Can't wait to check-out these sites!

Savvy Gamer also lists Steam deals.

Savvy Gamer also lists Steam deals.
I checked out Savvy Gamer. There are two of them: Savvy Gamer and THE Savvy Gamer. Neither is a sale tracking website, (i.e., they are NOT sale tracking websites.) They are just couple gaming news blogs, and not even good ones. Both sites are ugly, disorganized messes that give people eye sores by looking at them.

Even taking my misspelling of the site name it's still the top search result in Google regardless of whether you put in Savy Gamer or Savvy Gamer.

Season 2 is 66% off:

edit: NO steam key though

Third party sales for Season two redeem directly through Telltale. Except Humble Bundle for some reason.

I'm always on the look out for game sales tracking websites. Honestly tho, that website is not helpful for my purpose because:

(1) the prices is listed in UK pounds and pences;

(2) the organization and listings on that site are very messy,

(3) the listings do not immediately identify what sites or stores are offering the sales. I had to click through a couple times to find out what sites are offering the sales. I do NOT like that at all. (Again, that's just an example of how that site is disorganized and unhelpful.)

(4) the few click-throughs linked to Nuuvem. I can't even buy from Nuuvem and activiate a Nuuvem key because I am in the US. (And even Steam blocks out that site for some reason.)

It provides a list of games which are on sale. I'm not entirely certain why that comes across as messy

The site the deal is on should be shown if you hover over it. Nuuvem's fine as a site generally. I'm in the UK and have bought several keys from it and have never had any issues with activating them. For some reason Steam's language filter has an issue with the site name.

The prices being listed in sterling is a criticism. Despite that the site deal is on is going to give you the actual relevant price though.
