Hershel's farm issue

I'm early in the game at Hershel's farm. I've talked to all the characters, but can't get to where I talk to Hershel in the barn. Shawn keeps working on the fence. How do I advance the plot?

have you spoken with him? Has he asked you to saw boards for him. Did you talk to duck yet? And Katja and Clementine?

I'm not sure what the exact trigger is, but I'm pretty sure it involved speaking with Shawn.

You don't need to talk to Duck or Katjaa, just Kenny and Shawn. If it's not triggering after that, you might need to use the rewind feature.

Shawn hasn't asked me to saw boards. He just says he'll fortify the fence later. When I try to talk to him again, Lee just says 'Shawn is working on the fence.' I try talking to Duck, but he just waves at me. I've tried rewinding too.

Sounds like you're using the "Look at" option, rather than the "Talk to" option.

I'm having the same problem....can only look at Shawn and he's not asked me to saw. How did you use the "talk to" option instead of "look at" option?

you have to talk to everyone for it to work I do believe, the game says to talk to everyone, you might have to click on stuff around shawn or on him, I always talk to everyone cause I enoy it all and had no issues. depending how you do it sometimes you can see hershel walking in the barn or he already appears inside it. you should be given more options with show. you use your keyboard or scroll mouse. down the options

I was stuck on this part forever until I realized you can scroll down with your mouse wheel and choose a different option for Shaun instead of just looking at him. I rewinded a couple times until I realized it lol :)
