Carley is good for one reason and one reason alone: She knows of Lee’s past. Doug doesn’t. If Carley is kept alive instead of Doug, she can later convince Lee to reveal his past to everyone in the group. Doing this gives you trust points towards Ben and Kenny (Lilly doesn’t give af, it’s funnier if you tell the entire group but exclude her because she gets a special interaction later) which determines whether they want to help you find Clementine or not. I wish they gave Doug the ability to do this, as well (I mean, he spends most of his time on computers, surely he’d glance at the news at least once?) but alas, he’s a footnote.
Otherwise, yeah. She’s as dumb as... Ben. Maybe worse.
She holds you to you despite your past.
She will give you batteries for the walkie talki later, despite the fact that you don't want to take anything from the stand-alone car.
And for me personally, she motivate me, conjures up a smile on my face for a few seconds despite all the ♥♥♥♥
She wasn't perfect but she had the traits that I admire the most in any woman... hell, in any person. That strength of character.
Doug is a kind guy. Maybe it's because I am a bit like him, I don't know, I don't like him too much. He is boring and he knows a lot of stuff that is hard to put in practice. He keeps for himself and doesn't bring too much conversation.
The only time he actually expressed himself with some resolve, he ended up receiving a bullet for someone that could have been a traitor very easily.
For me, Carley is a much better character. She makes things happen, she is more interesting to speak with.
I mean, from a story perspective. In real life I would value much more Doug's traits. But at least in a game, Carley is better as a character.
Yeah, he is useful but... Doug get catched backwards, how and why? Thats silly enough to let him die instead of Carley...
Lilly was stupid to Kill Carley/Doug when obviously Ben was the traitor all along, I mean, she trust more in the new and stupid guy before the old member.
Also:
Lilly hated Carley because Carley wasn't afraid of confronting her. And Lilly killed Doug by mistake, she wasn't trying to do it.
Just for that reason, Lilly is much more likable in the Doug route...
straight up an antagonist it's kinda sucky that your choices don't really matter until the 3rd game
Lily was the voice of reason in the group until she was traumatised due to watching her father being killed in front of her. She's likeable in the first couple of episodes but the reception to is clouded by her killing Doug/Carley.
I understand your feelings but I personally disagree. In the last game she may be an antagonist, but she tries to save Clementine and she has a lot of problems to pull the trigger and kill her when it's obvious that she should. She cares, she is not a psychopath, she is just another survivor. And Clementine is not that different from her, she is also a hardcore b*tch. If Clementine ended up in the same tribe, she would probably be worse. We know how capable of cold actions Clementine is from the 3rd season.
I don't know, I think Lily is not that bad, she is quite a 3d character. And I admire her determination and strength.
