As a few people have already noted, the Telltale games are considered canon to the comics, but not the TV show
An interesting fact I learned back when Season 1 of the Telltale series came out was that the prison you are being driven to in Episode 1 "A New Day" is the same prison Rick and his people find in the comics, and the cop that is driving you there mentions a prisoner with the description "An older fella. Big, soft eyes behind a pair of smart folk glasses." Who apparently murdered his wife. This was most likely the prisoner "Thomas Richards" from the comics, who lied about what he was sent to prison for. He decapitated Hershel's twin daughters, and then attempted to kill Andrea as well. Readers of the comics knows what happens after. Apparently Lilly from season 1 and 4, was also supposed to be the same Lilly who killed the Governor during the prison arc. But, after the release of Robert Kirkman's novel "The Walking Dead: The Road To Woodbury" This idea was scrapped, because the Lilly from the comics was a character in this novel, and wasn't the Lilly from the game.
Stated on the store page from Day One.
tv show: hell no
There are many. Shane & Hershel never met for one.
