What happened to the cow?

After finishing the game one question left unanswered: what happened to that poor animal in mad farmers' barn after the place was overwhelmed by zombies? Do walkers attack animals and they turn after death just like humans or do zombies ignore them? In "Dawn of the Dead" movie survivors used a dog to deliver goods to a blocked fellow in a shop. Haven't seen any zombie animals in game either.

I think animals don't turn. (spoiler alert) You find a dead dog in a grave further down the story line, he didn't turn, so maybe the infection only works on humans.

Maybelle (the cow's name) escapes the farm in a blaze of glory as she fights off the infected to save Andy the one saint john brother in the barn (even if you stab him he doesnt die) as seen in a flashback of him when he makes a suprise return in telltale twd season 4. and later returns in telltales twd season 5 where Andy rides in on Maybelle and saves clemintine from a large group of walkers.
