Still, even this miserable experience is better than the dated Warframe and Destiny
Only a handful of weapons are useful, it's why you see the same ones used all the time.
Specific descendants are just bad and when people use them and think they are good, they are underperforming a TON compared to their teammates.
Colossi are made of paper. Final bosses of the void, die in 7 seconds, seems legit.
Hard mode dungeons aren't hard at all. Putting some extra HP and damage on enemies and shoving other enemies in specific spots is hard mode now adays ~Shrug~ Must be the lasers that make it hard.
And of course, let's not forget the RNG. The biggest factor to people staying or leaving, is how fast they can acquire something and some people are simply not patient and those that are, generally aren't rewarded. Luck isn't a factor, but it seems like it is in this game lol.
So far they have done a pretty good job.
Is there a single person that thinks Outpost > Void Shards > Reactor is a really fun loop and they are excited still be doing it 6 months, 1 year, 5 years from now? Anyone? Bueller?
Everytime I see "First season starts soon, this is just pre-season." It just makes me think of all the people that play a 3 day early access game and say "The day one patch will fix all the problems! Wait and see!" I'd expect this game to be in a semi-stable, keep playerbase state in no less than 3-4 months. Which ironically, is when the mega dungeon is set to release (But I am not specifically saying that alone will keep people.) They will just have enough time to smooth out the problems.
All time peak last month was 264k, current? 53k.
It's not dying, but it is losing players, which is what OP was saying. People are simply running out of things to do/getting bored or taking a break. It's common. However, the current gameplay loop is just not a fun one in end game and those that do try it, get it trivialized by people watching youtube builds for "Fast clears" Do you know the mechanic of the molten fortress fight? You may, or may not, because a Gley can delete the boss in 7 seconds lol.
It happens. A massive player count isn't essential in a game when you only need three people to fill out a team.
As for the comments on boredom, that is par for the course. Some are bored or have more important things to do or more engaging hobbies. That's fine. People haven't died. They can come back and play later when it makes sense. The devs still have a chance to find out something that is unique and engaging, they might even pull it off. But probably not the first season. That is still going to be a learning phase.
The nail in the coffin was that they started listening to whiners and nerfed bosses(Frozen crab for example), reactors, etc. What this move means is that all future content will be casual since they're already cutting everything now. I'm not interested in playing a casual game. This game was easy even before. Now it's literally no fun..
After a big update people will come back to farm new things and treat the devs with money.
