Falling player count
The player count has been constantly dropping. When it was new and shiny, it was heavily inspired by Warframe. As of the time I'm posting this, this game is only 3 places above Warframe in terms of player counts. When it drops below Warframe, does it become a cheap Warframe knock off?

Boss wipe and ammo management simulator is getting old very fast :lunar2019piginablanket:

Still, even this miserable experience is better than the dated Warframe and Destiny :lunar2019crylaughingpig:

guess the honeymoon phase is over...every game goes through it. its what the devs do after the honeymoon phase that decides whether the games player count gets worse or not.

Let me put it into perspective.

Only a handful of weapons are useful, it's why you see the same ones used all the time.

Specific descendants are just bad and when people use them and think they are good, they are underperforming a TON compared to their teammates.

Colossi are made of paper. Final bosses of the void, die in 7 seconds, seems legit.

Hard mode dungeons aren't hard at all. Putting some extra HP and damage on enemies and shoving other enemies in specific spots is hard mode now adays ~Shrug~ Must be the lasers that make it hard.

And of course, let's not forget the RNG. The biggest factor to people staying or leaving, is how fast they can acquire something and some people are simply not patient and those that are, generally aren't rewarded. Luck isn't a factor, but it seems like it is in this game lol.

Yup lots of good games weren't built in a day, path of exile, Diablo 2/3/4, Warframe, cyberpunk. WoW is totally different than it started.

So far they have done a pretty good job.

Turns out having enjoyable game loops is important.

Is there a single person that thinks Outpost > Void Shards > Reactor is a really fun loop and they are excited still be doing it 6 months, 1 year, 5 years from now? Anyone? Bueller?

Everytime I see "First season starts soon, this is just pre-season." It just makes me think of all the people that play a 3 day early access game and say "The day one patch will fix all the problems! Wait and see!" I'd expect this game to be in a semi-stable, keep playerbase state in no less than 3-4 months. Which ironically, is when the mega dungeon is set to release (But I am not specifically saying that alone will keep people.) They will just have enough time to smooth out the problems.

It's great for me and my friends now. Can't wait to see what else these awesome devs do :)

You have 20% chance for your statement to be true.

All time peak last month was 264k, current? 53k.

It's not dying, but it is losing players, which is what OP was saying. People are simply running out of things to do/getting bored or taking a break. It's common. However, the current gameplay loop is just not a fun one in end game and those that do try it, get it trivialized by people watching youtube builds for "Fast clears" Do you know the mechanic of the molten fortress fight? You may, or may not, because a Gley can delete the boss in 7 seconds lol.

You guys need to stop obsessing over player counts. The population will fluctuate over time. It could go up a bit with the new season, then die down again. The process may repeat until they strike gold, in which case the pop will go up much higher before falling again. The only difference is the low pop number may be higher than it was before.

It happens. A massive player count isn't essential in a game when you only need three people to fill out a team.

As for the comments on boredom, that is par for the course. Some are bored or have more important things to do or more engaging hobbies. That's fine. People haven't died. They can come back and play later when it makes sense. The devs still have a chance to find out something that is unique and engaging, they might even pull it off. But probably not the first season. That is still going to be a learning phase.

Even though this is another troll post, I'll respond anyway. The reason why I left TFD: they nerfed everything and anything i used. Literally all Gley builds. I'm just tired of farming Crystallizes again. Also they nerfed gold farm twice already. It was tedious to farm gold even before, but now it's just not worth it with such prices. You need gold everywhere, especially when you lvlup modules(red 7m gold)..
The nail in the coffin was that they started listening to whiners and nerfed bosses(Frozen crab for example), reactors, etc. What this move means is that all future content will be casual since they're already cutting everything now. I'm not interested in playing a casual game. This game was easy even before. Now it's literally no fun..

It's ok for the game of this genre.
After a big update people will come back to farm new things and treat the devs with money.
