DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG doesn’t tell you anything about the reason for it.
Do you have overclocked hardware ?
The errormsg is usefull.
#1 if you use Geforce Experience: check if Shadowplay is enabled (if so disable it)
Howto: https://imgur.com/a/turn-of-shadowplay-gfe-3-0-jsVQu
(it’s the “share” option)
#2 check in BIOS if the RAM is running in XMP mode (if so, reduce the RAM speed by 200MHz). NB: there is always an entry to do so… this does not disable the XMP profile, so go for it in order to stabilize the RAM access!
#3 Install “HWMonitor_x64” and run it in background. Check how the temperatures behave. There is a MAX column for CPU, RAM, SSD and GPU. So, you can check if the cooling is appropriate. If not check if the fan is installed correctly as the air direction matters. Add new fan or two if needed. recheck temp...
Shouldn't be an issue. 7 year old PC here, 1080Ti, Ryzen 7 1800X, and game runs 80-100fps (with frame generation), everything on ultra.
