Having two same weapons equipped is limiting your build, My characters is Ajax and has Def/ElementalDef/shield/skill mods are upgraded to 80+ can't upgrade anymore, weapon mods are mainly weapon damage and upgraded to max what is available.
Main problem are randoms and not enough ammo.

This is my problem with you and several people similar to you. You don't actually want a solution, and when someone presents one to you you immediately dismiss it.

Instead, you want the game nerfed until your playstyle is not only viable, but powerful. There does not appear to be a middle ground at all with you.

You're at 80/80 AND maxed gun mods on normal mode devourer? That should be more than enough to beat it.

I have yet to encounter a situation where you'd need all 3 different ammo types, and I doubt all 3 of your guns are maxed anyway. At most you'll use 2. If you're running out of ammo you're far better off using one weapon as an ammo gatherer.

Don't slot in shield, especially on Ajax. It's kind of useless for everyone except Kyle. You can probably remove that shield and ele resist for some CDR / skill power. Ajax is already tanky, no need to overkill it. Your shout and jump do a decent amount of damage even if its not your main source.

You only need 1 Weapon to beat a boss, 2 if you have a specific Sniper build for certain mechanics.

Learn to use ammo converters like others have pointed out or change your weapon. You have 3 weapon types. Using only 2 weapon types when one of them is not an ammo converter means you are only using 2/3 of your total possible ammo. Add that to the fact that you don't want to kill adds for ammo, you're just creating problems for yourself.

Not to mention I've no idea where you get the delusion that "better mods are hiding behind the gate" but that "one mods to rule them all" does not exist. Past Devourer, the mods are mostly sacrificial type where you sacrifice something for another. I'll describe one for you.

Overwhelming Defence: Adds 24.7% of your HP to defence. Sets your HP to 1.

This is the type of modules you are hoping will save you from Devourer lol. Good luck with that 1 HP. Your hoped for "Promised Land" does not exist. Even with access to post Devourer mods, I'm having trouble even surviving normal spawns. Your "heaven" is in reality a piece of hell that you are not ready to take on just yet.

I don't even have that mod and even if I did I would never use it because certain elemental damage bypass your shieds.

Kill adds. Kill immunity cone. Use 3 weapon types or ammo converter. Skip Shields. Don't let your team die (related to don't kill adds since they drop health). Coming here to whine without listening to people trying hard to help you despite your stubbornness. I'm sure I missed quite a few things with how messed up the whole conversation is but those are the ones that come to mind.
