Coloring skins
There is something I didn't understand. Are paints one time use or can I apply it to a skin, remove it(returning the skin to the default), and then apply the paint to a different skin? Resuming, If I remove a paint that I applied to a skin, will it be "destroyed"?

Once you apply a paint to a skin, it becomes locked to that skin, however it is unlimited. You can remove it from the skin and it will still be available in your palette for that skin.

You cannot use it on another skin unless you buy it again, but you can go back to the first skin and apply it a week later without having to buy it again, for that first skin

It's ONE time use.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Yup, one time use as the others have said, the color is "locked" to that armor piece (head and body are separate armor pieces)

So if you used metallic gold on your head and it was your only copy, you'll have to buy another copy for the body

It's dumb and needs to be rid of asap

I'll happily buy each color individually if it means that I can use it however many times I want without having to repurchase

I did not know this. Thanks. Still not worth it to buy the colors imo but that is just my subjective take.

They are not one time use.

They are, however, limited to a single piece of an outfit. So if you apply one to a skirt then it can be removed an applied to the top that came with the skirt. It can not be applied to a different costume.

So it is worse than how I wished it was but better than what I feared it could be. Thnx for responding.

Need to be able to paint default skins. If all you have is default skins, you can't even buy paints, even though you got dozens through ingame achievements and the Battlepass.

It looks like each Battle Pass might have recolor of basic skins for Descendants. The current BP has one for the three starters Lepic, Viessa and Ajax and I plan on getting them to save money since the ones in the shop for 130 (?) caliber are the same style just different colors.

EDIT: The skins I am talking about are in the special section on the BP that you use the silver coins for. I think first tier opens at level 50 and second level at 96 or 97.

The only one I care about is the lvl 96 one and to get the head you are FORCED to get all the stuff there to unlock it, so you have to buy **** you have zero interest in.

Yeah it sucks, but it is what it is. Considering what they wanted to do before the technical test what we have is pretty good lol

If you didn't know, they originally planned to have 3 materials you can purchase from the shop, or get in the Battle Pass that you required to make a paint, 1 of each 3 materials. You then went to a device and rolled a gacha game to see what colour you would get, with a set chance per colour, bright colours and metals had the lowest chance, pale boring ones had the highest chance.
That system cost you 300 caliber per 5 rolls (or 5 paints), however duplicates were common

I did 28 rolls before I got the red paint. Thats 1680 caliber. thankfully it was test caliber because I would not have spent a dime on that system

I'm pretty sure you can just save your coins and when you unlock it you can buy anything from either two lists without buying them in a certain order. The first and only thing I bought so far was the Lepic mask and I did not buy anything else. Next thing I buy will be Viessa's hair.

EDIT: I was wrong. You do have to buy all 5 items before the last item. This is such a terrible mechanic. WoW had something like this with the HoA where in order to get the backpack, which is the only item I wanted, you had to fully unlock the HoA tree in Chamber Heart. Never got the only thing I wanted and now this looks like the same thing. This is a massive L in my books.

If you apply paint 2 to slot 1, then apply paint 3 to slot 1, then paint 2 is gone forever.

according with the other comments, that's not how it works.

That was not my experience when I tested it.

I had 2 pink paints. I applied one and I had one left. I applied gold over it, and I still only had one pink left.

The worst part IMO is that the colors on the skins you buy aren't for sale so it is hard to simply replace 1 or 2 colors without the color or sheen looking slightly off from the base colors on the skin. My OCD screamed to repaint the entire skin the first time I saw that the color selections don't contain the premade skin colors.
