The First Descendant

Black Screen Crash and Ray Tracing as a Potential Cause
Using a new computer optimized for gaming and a 2000$ RTX4090 on an Alienware 4K 240Hz 32inch monitor, I have felt like I have never had a better gaming experience in terms of visual quality and performance, until I attempted to play the First Descendant.

In my experience with other games, for example, Dead Space Remake, Remant II, Alan Wake II, I never had an issue with running a game on ultra settings, and for me that means comfortably above 60+ FPS, while 4K, using the RTX4090 for everything.

Now regarding Easy Anti Cheat (which I never played a game requiring it before), and The First Descendant. After sorting out athose startup various problems with windows defender, I then encountered a black screen crash during the load-up before the start menu.

I overcame this by using GeForce Experience to run as "windowed mode" on the lowest settings. This allowed me to load the game. I sequentially experimented in the options in this order, fullscreen, then each various ultra setting from top, downward, and noticed no dips in performance. I skipped ray tracing settings. Everything else was set to ultra.

When I toggle RTX however I instantly encountered a crash, and I cannot enter the game due to a black screen load issue. I fixed this again, by reverting the GeForce Experience Settings and then maximizing the settings.

Now here is the other issue, I own a Razer Blade 18, 4090 RTX, 4K screen, for about one month I have had similarly no problems. I installed The First Descendant, and found that there are no issues with Ray Tracing.

All windows updates, DirectX12, RTX hardware drivers, are all updated and I assume there is nothing else I can do with updates and drivers to determine the RTX problem on the tower.

Anyway I hope this is helpful to some and if anyone has any insight (other than how I could've saved money on x,y,&z ...), I would greatly appreciate it, thanks.
