So far all the female characters I've unlocked have had cool abilities but are much more fragile than Ajax, the dude I started the game with.

The other tanky characters also seem to be male.

Technically, non of what you said, is the origins of "woke". Woke was bringing attention to injustices amongst minorities. It was to wake the world up, to what we experience everyday, that others just brush pass. TODAY, people label anything that isn't straight white male, to be woke. kyle, ajax, and valby are fairly tanky

everyone else is glass lmao
blair has pretty good area damage, freyna is somewhat underpowered in the same role, but has a high DPS ult. bunny is an absolute glass cannon with insane sustained area damage. viessa is amazing burst, sharen does sharen things (only real choice for outpost infil)

the rest i haven't unlocked yet, but from what i've seen, enzo is an amazing support (with the only passive for easing up encrypted vaults), yujin is the token healer, and i haven't seen esiemo anywhere yet
