i got the 6% twice in a row and i aimed for the 10%
You just said why it makes sense though. "Luck." or in this game's case, RNG. You just rolled a bad number, it happens. Welcome to looters!
There is a 99.29% probability of having obtained the item by now.
I'm sitting at half of that, 40 attempts on a 6% drop and it just feels downright incorrect. The sheer amount of complaints about 20-25% drops and 20+ attempts on those really paints a picture. Something ain't right.
You're sitting at a 94% chance to not get what you want. The devs even said it themselves in their news report on the patch notes. "Drop rates are what they are." So you can fix it into your head that the probabiltiy moves into your favor if you like to, but it doesn't. Everytime you go for a 6% drop, you have a 94% chance not to get it. Everytime you go for a 3% drop, you have a 97% chance not to get it. RNG sucks, I know, but it is what it is.
If you could flip the same side of a 50/50 coin 100 times you'd be a very lucky person.
Is it possible? Yes, obviously, but highly unlikely. That's the point I'm making here. It's extremely unlikely for someone to be this level of unlucky, and there's a lotta people complaining about being this unlucky.
Math doesn't lie, for this person to have done 80 attempts they're sitting under a 1% chance of being this level of unlucky. You can apply that to every complaint from people about their 20-30 runs on 20-25% drops and see that there's an abnormal amount of 'extremely unlucky' people.
I mean, you do you. I don't play a looter to do math. I know what probabilities are and I know what drop rates are. I disregard BOTH when playing a looter. Why? Because it is NEVER in your favor. You farm until you get what you want, other wise, you submit yourself into thinking the system is "Rigged" when infact, it normally isn't. I say normally, because it has happened before.
You also have to take into consideration that OP is likely exaggerating a little bit.
For me, for instance.
I went after a 3% drop chance mod the other day.
Ran the mission 36 times on normal, 1 time on hard, no drop.
Then I ran an outpost 17 times on hard (5% chance.) and it finally dropped.
No where in my probabilities was I anywhere close to getting what I wanted, as the two modes differed from one another, but the drop tables also differed, so it made it easier doing the outpost (Which I should of done from the start.)
Adversely, when I went for valby (38% drop.) I got her pieces each time in 1-2 times, where as my friend took 14 tries for the stabilizer. It just is what it is. Shut your brain off and farm, that's what looters are for.
On these discussion boards you see dozens of posts of people complaining about bad luck for a single/couple drops. Taking only a couple peoples info and trying to draw larger conclusions from it just isn’t accurate when there are millions of players not complaining because they got that 20% or 3% drop in their first couple tries.
Personally I’ve gotten lucky and gotten two ultimate bunny 3% drops in less than 2 attempts each while I’ve failed a 6% and 20%/30% drop a dozen times each. That’s just rng.
Love this game.
Think gonna go back to Warframe for real.
i guess they couldn't take all the feature from warframe, had to remove those that would help people grind
