It is definitely their fault and not ours.
Why, for the love of God, would you trust any system in any game without testing it first?
The first thing I did was put a blue, purple, and yellow weapon in my inventory and used the junk option to see what was highlighted. You should do this with every game. I'm not making excuses for the system or defending it. But general rule in life is that you are responsible for your intelligence before relying on ANY system, not just in games. if you cross the street at an intersection and the light is red, do you just blindly cross or do you check to be sure the traffic stopped? If its payday and your paycheck didn't go through, would you just go "ah they'll figure it out" or would you check on it?
LIke, why would you not practice due diligence. I hope you get your Excava back, and I hope they fix the issue, but brother, they may have dug this hole, but you're the one that stepped into it. This is a life lesson in the making, count yourself lucky it's a bunch of pixels in an elecronic toy and not a Semi at an intersection.
Happened to me for 1 piece of Thunder Cage. But I learnt my lesson and updated my filter.
Still, I would favorite all legendary guns as a precaution.
I mean I could see that a new level 1 getting accidentally marked as junk. one that will be used to enhance the unique power. But again you can literally see the trashcan icon on the weapon before you hit dismantle. Also you have to question why you are so full of junk when you do all of this, as well.
Especially right after they change the filters. You would think one would double check to make sure they are working right.
I posted my settings but also warned I did not test them thoroughly too. So if you followed my settings then I'm sorry for that. (had no level 1 ultimate weapons to test with)
I've heard some guy playing darktide sold his weapon, contacted the studio and they reverted it
In Hotfix 1.1.2, as the Filter option has been changed to Exclude Junk Filter, we are seeing some accidental cases of dismantling Ultimate Weapons.
To prevent such mistakes, we temporarily fixed settings not to allow dismantling for Ultimate Weapons. And the official patch regarding such issue will be set in Hotfix 1.1.3. After the Hotfix 1.1.3, Ultimate Weapons will be automatically registered as Attached Items, and we will make modifications to let Ultimate Weapons not to be selected as ‘designated all as junk’.
For those who accidentally dismantled their Ultimate Weapon between 1.1.2 update and 1.1.2b update, we will restore the dismantled weapons via mail without needing an additional request. We appreciate your understanding and patience while it may take time for restoration. We appreciate your understanding and patience while it may take time for restoration.

Anytime i get something I know 100% i want to keep like ultimate weapons, I always mark them as favorite with U and that will make sure they never get dismantled.
