Yes, if they make the skins fit to different body type.
EDIT: I just now looked in the shop - an outfits which fit all descendants is available and on sale. It is a bit ... gimmicky, but it exists. dandycorn
I imagine that purchases of those outfits would constitute votes for additional "one size fits all" styles.
I don’t know if it's possible in the long run to add a system that lets you have a morphing character model. Ala Star Trek online or Aion. That would be the best option, given that then you could have both unique bodies and universal characters. Plus, you’d get a lot of people just tweaking the characters to make them exactly what they wanted. I remember back in the day people would load into city of hero’s just to spend time in the character editor tweaking their characters. Which would be a nice distraction from the grind on occasion. Plus, to be honest, it’s the only thing I’ve spent money on in TFD. When a new character comes out, I’ll farm the character, get the discount, and if I like the look of them, I’ll then buy it for the costume.
What would you do if they came out with the academy outfits, but it was only the Viessa one with a sweater for EVERY female character? You would have no choice but to get that one. No variety. No other style options for different characters.
Don't try and reduce the quality or variety of things in order to fit your wallet.
this would be relevant if UNIVERSAL cosmetics weren't higher quality than the expensive singular-descendant purchase cosmetics lmao
They are the same price. How you feel about the character specific skins comes down to mainly which characters you like most. But I've lucked out since most of the skins for Luna have been good. I know eventually there will be Luna skins I'm not into. I won't complain if one of the event skins is mid for my character because there will be tons more.
When the game released I was waiting months for a good Sharen skin. And it has only been since February that they decided to up the frequency of skin releases. People who like universal skins and character specific skins will get more variety. Just wait. Also don't forget the Season 3 battlepass is gonna come with a universal skin.
I play multiple descendants, universal cosmetics are better for me and the universal cosmetics, while being "repetitive and lacking uniqueness" (using your words, phrasing it differently) are still higher quality—and cheaper to boot— than the "unique" ones.
We can discuss how they're the "same price" if you only buy 1 cosmetic, but I am discussing the issue when you play multiple descendants and want cosmetics for all of them- they are then not the same price at all. I play Bunny, Viessa, Gley and Ines all equally as much as each other, I am not spending as much as it currently costs for all 4 school cosmetics when I can just wait for 1 universal skin that is higher in quality and cheaper for me.
I can't really debate on what someone else finds valuable when it comes to skins. It's all subjective. My main point is that they already do some events that have universal skins and some that have character specific skins. I don't see the value in trying to make every event be universal skins. You're prioritizing what you want and advocating for taking away what other people value. Uniqueness in skins for each character.
