2k hours in Warframe, How does this vary?
I'm always looking for group activity. Action titles like warframe etc. Seeing anthem died and destiny is a forced fps, I looked at this. Seems promising.

What are the similarities or guidelines a new user would need to know if interested. Give me the actual details. How pay to win, how to progress, is this a copy paste formula or how does it stand above the competition.

Thank you in advance.

This game is extremely easy, as a newbie, just queue any content you can't solo and you'll be carried along no problem.

As you develop characters/weapons, the game will become trivially easy.

The main game loop is farming content hundreds of times to get drops that individually have small % chance drop (albiet if you play long enough you'll get items to help with that).

Don't expect cooperative play, as the characters have differing mechanics, better characters will simply wipe content before others can engage. Bosses have all been nerfed so no real difficulty there either.

Also, beware spending money or overly investing into what you perceive as a "good" descendant, as other players may complain and then developers may nerf it into a clunky un-fun mess. (Reference Ines Raya nerfs from the Dev's April 3rd patch)

This coming from a player with 1,200+ hours in game...

I just got the thing downloading now. I am a under the rock baby boy fresh for the world. I don't mind the burst. Warframe has that too. Some classes just suck more than others, Hotfixes do they thing. I don't mind paying for things, So long as I continue to enjoy the product. I understand company gotta 3rd party currency. This is nexus. I expect that I will be paying SOMETHING as this is a free to play.

Its 2025. We all know whats up. I can queue up and hop in, Let folks carry till I get better. Does it have a craft tab situation where you collect the hundreds of bits, thousands of bops, wait 3 days get a thing?

Hardmode is a known troll on the forum but what they have said is pretty accurate up until the last paragraph but we are not here to argue but rather give you the raw truth.

The game lacks any form of content that requires cooperative play at the moment, the content is so watered down that it is laughable and many descendants exist that trivialise the content.

I'd say try the game as it's F2P and the only thing you'll be wasting is time (which is the most valuable currency you own) and see how you like it. S3 which is set to release in June, is the make or break patch for how the devs will continue developing the game.

*It does have a craft tab situation, similar to WF so you don't really have to spend on anything but cosmetics.

Does this support a battle pass or season pass format?

You will indeed be time gated in crafting with the option to pay with irl money to speed it up.

Expect to take about a month in crafting to get up to max mastery rank if you don't skip anything by paying.

It has a battlepass that refreshes every season
Sounds like warframe to me. How vile is the spending? three figure for a season clear or do I have to do content. Don't judge me. I work and have kids.

You don't have to spend at all, there is no mandatory purchases in the game, not a single one. The only thing you genuinely have to spend on, if you want, are cosmetics.

This is great to read. Mastery was tied to everything in Warframe, outside cosmetics which were tagged along sure, But each gun, melee, suit, it all had a growth gadge. If I can pop around and use cash ONLY for pixels more ambient, That is a good good thing. Pay to win, and pay to progress to me, are unique. The first is fowl, but the second is fair. People got lives you know but I too desire to enjoy this world created.

Imma load it up. See how it treats me. ABout 60% done now.

if you play the game for free you can easy get all the ult descendants with out having to spend a dime game is super chill and not a pain in the butt like warframe is with grinding it just takes time like all ways.

i got all of my ults with out buying any of them the grind is way more tame then warframes grind to get stuff done and you only need to get to lvl 20 on master lvl and its super easy to get it.

Season pass is about $20. Again, you'll find yourself waiting on crafting forever if you want to ftp.
42+ hours to craft character components and character themselves
30+ hours to craft module slot enhancer (gives you more capacity to equip modules)
8 hours to craft module reset so you can modify slots (essential to build character)
24+ hours to craft full version of guns with full perks
all of that contingent on getting drops (need 4 from different sources) that take about 30min a piece as a lucky newbie but could take hours, dependent on drops actually happening..

Sounds reasonable. Less even. Frames took 72 hours, weapons took 12 to 24 depending on the quality or type. Just feels like I am peeling one layer to slap on a new one. Fit is not as snug but we can work it in.
If you've played WF you'll see and understand a lot of the systems, as the main systems are pretty much the same between both games. Where they differ is in the random stats numbers and perks certain pieces of equipment come with. Weapons have built in rivens.

At a high level, this game is overall more expensive when it comes to purchasing items in the store relative to the equivalent to what WF has. It's much more grindy and repetitive, but thats subjective.

There's no trading, or discount codes. Battlepass is not free.

But try it out, it won't cost a cent

Keep in mind that once you've done the farming... that's it. the rest is just stockpiling gold, kuiper, and freebie boosts that the daily/weekly quests give you + whatever season point quests are available until they run out less than half way through the season.

So, once geared up, you have less than an hour of content per day... bosses take sub 1 min as a rule, and the only content that can be expected to take more than 5min are the void erosion purge challenge levels which are just recycled mob clears except everything is a bullet sponge.
