seeking VEP tips

Yeah, im trying to make VEP feel less... ugh, i use Gley for VEP mostly because she is the only one i have who can take a hit, currently i farm VEP27, thats the one i can do quicker, i tried some Malevolent builds i found online that claim that "shred" through VEP30 but can't do it in less than 10 minutes with said builds, so i dont really know, i know most use dagger but i havent built mine yet, i just got the 4 stars on my dagger and the catalyst, just have to find the strenght to level its prof(tired of doing this over and over again...).
So what im asking its, can Malevolent ACTUALLY do VEP30 quicker?
Or is there a descendant that can do better with a descendant only build that doesnt rely on a weapon that much?

Yeah, malevolent with Serena (both properly built) will absolutely melt through VEP30.

Gley isn't gonna cut it by the way, Serena's multishot perks make it so every bounce of malevolent's shots cause aoe damage.

Welp i do have Serena but i have her with Divine Surge build for farming, guess i have to repurpose her... is there any particular build for her?

get hymn (easy to grab from sigma hard first zone, drops like crazy). mainly build for hp and CD to do her ult for multi hit. there are a couple builds youtube for it. same goes for malv builds as well.

I didnt wanted to invest much on Serena because we already know what happens when we have fun on this game now.

I still use Gley on VEP30.
I might convert my electric Dagger and Relic for Serena,
so that Restored Relic can finally be a pure fire.

I've seen Serenas blow through enemies, even the boss in VEP 30.
I suspect they are using Optimised for Purge30 builds,
so that means Ice Malevolent, vs Darkness and the rest.
Just because Serena can pull it off, doesn't mean you can do the exact same.

You don't enter purge until you are good and ready with top gear and Descendants.
If you half ass it, you'll end up being slow and do garbage damage.
I was farming Purge27 with Gley, until Purge got nerfed, and then I finally beat 28
in a group of three.
To 'farm' Purge, because 27 only gives you Core9s, and 30 gives 4x CoreX, EDIT: a lot of Core9s and 8s, probably more than Purge27 anyway,
it is now recognised that Purge30 is the most efficient, even it if takes you 15 minutes.
Purge28 is arguably the hardest level, 29 and 30 are not so brutal, so get there if you can.
TLDR: I don't think there is an easy way, you just gotta Use the Force.

Thing is, i can clear Purge 28 and 29 no problem with inf ammo ult gley, i can clear purge 30 yes, but it takes longer than 12 mins so on the long run its not good farming option, by the time i cleared vp30 i can do 3 or 4 vp27 runs, i have elemental malevolent for purging but that specific one cant make it damage fast enough, altho tbh im starting to think that trying so hard to do that one for only a couple cores might not worth the sanity decrease it takes lol.

i been farming VEP30 casually using

serena tank build (lots of HP) with decent cooldown + multi talented
malevolent fully spec on toxic dmg + cores for firearm ATK and toxic ATK (since i already got 2 fire rate cores )
and seasonal toxic buff.


so far, been getting consistent solo 4min clear casually there.
so i just watch youtube while i repeat that mode to farm cores

Yeah, I think it's a Serena & Ice Malevolent combo then.
The ones I've seen ripping through stuff, go off like a gatling gun,
so three God Roll fire rate cores I'm guessing + Fire Rate Up + now Shell components.

I have no idea how you are going to control that recoil though,
which is why I say it might not be for you, certainly not for me.
I don't think Gley can get that kind of damage, and her best weapons are Relic & Dagger.

Serena has some burst tricks, like Firing Fiesta Last Dagger,
because she doesn't actually do inf ammo, Gley might be more consistent.
I think it is down to playstyle choice really, and yeah, I might be tempted to farm 27 in your case. But for me, after getting to 30, 27 feels like... a waste of time?

i just do VEP30 cause of the guarantee 3 X core (random) and plenty of IX cores to craft into X cores, it adds up a lot

disclaimer, you will be faster with chill element, i use toxic cause im also using it for everything else not just VEP30
things like tormentor farm, sigma sector, etc etc
since the weapon have base toxic dmg might as well go with how the weapon meant to be

Gley got an indirect buff via the new Components. Fire Brand Aux + Sensor with Shell Crusher Processor and Memory.
