Weekly challenges – a big translation issue
For all who plays using the German UI (but maybe there is trouble also in other languages )

There is a Season Challenge called in German “Göttliche Bestrafung” (besiege Gegner mit aktiven Elektro-Fähigkeiten 0/30). This is a complete nonsense as the English UI says: “Battle in the Abyss” (complete a Void Intercept … 0/30”. I guess the English one is correct as I tried all active electro skills and nothing worked (count is still 0/30) but not yet done any abyss runs.

@Nexon: I am really pis..d. Could you guys hire someone who make at least a rudimentary QA? And: hire a mathematician as the terminology you use is still crap. NB: a Percentage factor must be written this way “1.40” and not “40%” for all values where you claim to calculate as multiplication and a Percentage Rate must be written “40%” for all values where you claim to calculate as addition. Language, cumulative and associative laws and semantic matters guys!

Update: I opened a Nexon support ticket (hope they take care of the QA issues)

Update2: Nexon promised to fix this. They guess the devs should take a look as it could be a “reference issue” to the Missions-Description Database (this is also my guess)

You miss the point. I wrote this for all who play exclusively German UI

The Spanish translation has exactly the same error.

This makes me think this was the challenge at some point, but it got changed and the translations weren't updated.

just be happy that there is a ui in your language....

I am glad there is no anything in my language.
Anything other then the games intended original language is a afterthought.
It just takes up "dev time" that is best use elsewhere. This game needs it on that elsewhere very much.
And even if done, its often badly, and much harder to keep updated and develop for. As you see for yourself right now.

Point is, several translations are being made where none are needed to begin with.
IMO, they should just keep it English, from my own experience, many German (and other countries) players and people can understand and deal with it just fine.

I disagree. It is not a job for a developer to assure translations quality.
Translation is not his topic and actually does not slow down development or make devs busy.

But it is Nexon’s job to have QA processes in place and to hire translation experts.

The “translation” mistake is actually not a “translation” as the target of the German description is disjunct with the meant one. It was deployed directly with the new season as one of 8 Season Challenges. At least this has to be QA…don’t you think?

English still has localization issues too. Went the entire of season 2 (part 1?) without fixing them.

Suppose it's inevitable with a localized game, but it does show how much they really care about getting everything right, or fixing what's wrong.

The game's native language is Korean.

The localization team is not the development team.

Clearly, but they also clearly make it English since that's what everybody in world pretty much understands and speaks. Hell they even speak it during their streams and what not.
Spanish ..yeah ok multiple countries use that.
German? French ? Only those countries themselves use it really. While they can deal with things being English just fine in general.
And its not so much dev time, but more of a waste of money resources here.
Thats money they put into unnecessary things. I rather see that money put into actual development.

Do you actually think a big copr translates a game because of good will? Think a bit more. It's the opposite of waste of money. They do it because they want more money.
