I think Enduring Legacy has fallen off, due to the nerfed in useless Core slots.
I used to use it all the time, now I only use it for Serena in Sigma Sector.
However it does have 100% hip fire and aimed accuracy!

I think Malevolent will last a couple of seasons, like Voltia.
But the above poster is probably right, the meta always changes, deliberately.
Otherwise, why grind for new weapons?

Right now I'd say Dagger, but with any updates things can change.
I have every gun just for that very reason, just no builds/spend catalysts on most of them, but at least I do have them cored up so I can slap in a viable build in a few hours should such situation come.

Meta changes, so invest in all of them, I cored all ultimates.

The new guns that came out in this update are really powerful. Malevolent, Ancient Knight, A-TAMS. These 3 guns are worth grinding and building up. If those 3 guns are too hard or take forever for you to get, then just get the Last Dagger for now.

What type of weapon you need?

Legacy has limited value mainly for Fire in my view due to its ability

For LMG, I built Albion
SMG they practically give you Thunder Cage especially now, it seems they have changed certain missions to hand out 2 parts easier than before
Handgun people are going for Last Dagger
Beam Weapons depends, best would probably be Voltia whenever it is available for those coins from Deslin
Tactical Rifle would be Greg's
Other weapons I have not tried or built all of to recommend one

Note Assault Rifle is finicky, they all seem to have use for certain Descendants but not all

I would say read the description, not just the box showing up when you hover over them, there is a button to push to look at detailed stats

Enduring Legacy for example can lower Fire Resistance thus good for Fire users over others since it should also buff their abilities
Divine Punishment part of its ability is buffing your DEF only if you buff alies, good for Yujin, Enzo, Jayber, one or a few others but not everyone

The booby outfits are the strongest weapon. I beat everything without closing the inventory screen.

The new weapons are great, haven't tried Truly Deadly Arson, but I've heard good things about it as well. You can't go wrong with Enduring Legacy, as with cores it is quite powerful. Just don't expect to get to VEP 30 with it necessarily. The Last Dagger, Restored Relic, Albion Cavalry Gun, all can be quite useful. Depends what kind of job you want to do.
