The First Descendant

The First Descendant

Hailey has a big problem with the way the game is going.
Her skills take far far far to long to activate and deactivate, bosses are to mobile and to fast, incentive's a single build, as much damage as possible in a very short amount of time.

She MUST have a skill cancel added to her, her 3 abilty while dealing damage yes, is now nothing compared to Ines charge up and fire, that takes less time and hits so much harder.

Same with her 4 ability, it takes far to long to activate and locks her in place, and takes another time to cancel the ability, this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ especially when we have enemies who put stuff on the ground instantly wiping you with no chance to dodge or counter, this is not fun this is not even good game play, this is punishing a player for a mechanic you put in that serves no purpose when there are descendants doing as much or more damage with more mobility.

She is heavy killer and sniper. Her skills are to stay as far as possible and shoot hard targets. In most dungeons its useless. So her role is boss killer. I agree areas are too small for long range sniper. But her skills are actually balanced. For groups use her 1st skill.

My point to my post is that almost any descendant can do her "mobbing" job better, if she even has one and that's fine.
But her role as boss killer is also done better by others at this point, (not colossi bosses)
But with the content that is coming out her skills are pointless and slow, tight small arenas with no where to snipe from or take advantage of her very situational passive.
She isn't even a boss killer any more, even Ines can do it better than her with higher survive-ability. because of her beam and sniper freezing her in place for far to long with no quick cancel to it.

And on top of that, her beam attack is CRAP range, and actually mandates you get very close to what ever you are shooting at.

Oh also forgot this, with her sniper, you can not actually build for both her 1 ability and her 4, because they require both different mods and going back to what I first said, because her skills are so dog slow, it mandates you build only 1 way, dealing as much damage in the least amount of shots possible.

and lets not even bring up the mobility of bosses, you activate your 4 ability, and they "jump" behind something, forcing you to either stand still or to deactivate it.

But her damage output is considerably high , its risk- reward gameplay
If you want to give up the risk then you are giving up the rewards. I don;t think most players want to lose the damage

I am also not sure why are you comparing ines 3 to hailey 4 , Iness needs to generate resource to use it which is maybe twice a run before boss goes down or she goes down .Meanwhile for hailey its on demand like right at the first seconds the boss spawns I can use it . I can mod it to have seven hits. The only advantage iness has is shorter cooldown but that is meaningless if you do not have the resource to use it.
For Lepic, only recently I was shown his magic "roll trick", cast the 4th and roll that cancels almost 2 sec of wasted time.

The case you're pointing out is the solo harder colossi, isn't? The main tactics of her op build is the "glass cannon" targeting less than 30-sec nuke. For co-op, she was a must during Infernal Walker, having a shielded tank moving around drawing its attention and leaving the ladies to do their best.

Yujin's 1st should be as fast as Freyna's and Ines', but his trowing animation is about a sec longer, and his projectile speed is also slower.

My point is with the way TFD is going Hailey has big problems, just look at the void vessel mission, the arena is so small that you can't even use her passive, so many adds spawn you are immediately forced to deactivate your skill most of the time, or the boss puts fire on the ground right when you activate it. or it jumps behind one of the many pillars, mean while Ines and other decadents just put down their damage bubble and run around perfectly safe dealing far more damage.

it's not a risk reward thing it's a bad mechanics thing with the way the game is designed.

Oh i agree on that, kind of, she is a nuke, but that is highly situational an only in colossi fights, with a caveat, some colossi put stuff on the ground, if they do this to you even once while in your stance, you MUST cancel the ability or you will simply die. it does not matter the resistances you have. this goes for all bosses, allowing her to roll and re-stance would be a HUGE boom to her ability to survive and not just our right go straight to cool down.
It basically goes like this, kill the boss in the first 30 seconds or before the first transition, or just restart the match, this isn't fun at all and is highly situational content.

Hailey doesn’t have any problems because she’s a bunch of pixels but some players with high or unrealistic expectations may have. LOL
Why you need Hailey if Ines exist?) I think, they will improve her in ultimate version.
I always use Albion Calvary Gun because it stuns enemies caught by its ricochets. Any descendant not DPS-nuke can benefit from it. Also, Hailey 3rd prevents her from being knocked out and AFAIK she is the only descendant that has this resistance.

I would use MP collector and her 1 and 3 abilities for mobbing dungeons. With practice and becoming familiar with the dungeon layout and spawn cycles, once you have a clear shot in a corridor, use 2 to swipe the whole pack with an "AOE sniper shot".

This is kind of my point, but apparently the devs are looking at this in future updates.
same thing happened with Freyna to Valby, Freyna just does her job 100% better.

People still use guns for mobbing ? LOL Big mistake, Nexon turned TFD into Hogwarts Legacy 2.

The devs don't want to balance the game , they don't want one shoe fits all descendant. If the next abyss boss is an ice element , lepic will be the next meta .Haliey / Viessa will then be shelved until the next hopefull season

If you are going to look it that way then Descendants like Blaze Esiemos , Kyle have problems that are not even comparable to Halley .

LOL, sure thing, but I've been having so much fun with Enzo, AJAX, Ines, and Lepic focusing more on guns. I am doing Inf 250% solo with vanilla Ines + enduring Legacy / Albion Calvary and she can do it nicely, even co-op 250% feels great. That's why I've decided to fully build her for dungeons, 2 options crit/power and duration/cooldown. Enzo is fantastic. Basic Hailey is the next to be tested after solo colossi on normal then hard, just to see how far everybody can go.

Hailey is good when fighting single targets especially at range in the right spot, otherwise she is meh

Yeah it means you get carried somewhat when doing mob dungeon areas, you are a JAG character

But when those fights come with the high health bosses and you position so you pull no aggro, you do well

Her 3 could use a tweak, nothing more really

lol, on the contrary, most players at 250% are not op'ed, so the matches are leveled mostly, except when a bunny joins. Why would a op player do 250% and not 400%? Also, I've carried a lot of folks with basic Sharen infiltration and Freyna Special Operations.
