How do you think this game will do in 2025?
First of I love this game , I know it's nothing crazy and that other games do somethings better (I see you Warframe enjoyers) and yes that may be true but this game has it's addicting and satisfying side of it too, anyways. I know numbers are just that and it shouldn't stop you from enjoying a game but when it comes to a online service game I can't help to get a bit worry for it for the long run, I know the numbers aren't crazy low and I mean some launch games wish they had the amount of players this game does (R.I.P Concord). I'm just a bit worry for this game this year but I do hope I'm wrong cause I enjoy playing this game.

so far we've had regular QoL updates, a fair amount of new content and the playerbase everyone was nonstop meme'ing amount dropping coming right back the moment there's something new to do, I'm sure it'll do fine in the long run
alot of hater seems to think this game wouldnt even survive till 2025 but here we are
id say as long as the dev willing to listen and improve the game then its fine, the player will reflect that , not every game is a gem at the start some are rough but its the dev job to improve them and make it better as the time goes
and im here simply giving my trust as long as dev stay listening

I played some "dead" games and had so much fun, that all that popular junk was never be able to deliver combined.

As of TFD, they are doing good. But you can't play this game all day long, because there are simply not enough content yet.
So it is useful to have another side game. Not another grindy one, though.

There is no ranked mode whefe ppl will compete with each other for better score/time. That new 30 stage mode is what we need if done right.

There are some good 2025 games coming this year. So TFD must deliver good updates to keep ppl playing.
I think it will do like all games. Content drops, players play it till they finish it or are frustrated and than player numbers drop till next content update.

Ines in about a week and a half, new female fire descendant in the future, new ultimate, new fellow, I think something added to this season but can't remember what, Season 3, New Years cosmetics (I want the Chun-li looking one), etc.

Im in the same boat as you, while i agree with what you said even about warframe i do prefere a lot TFD mostly for more pleasing aestetics. I dont think the game will die now but unless the speed up content it might. I think they should do at least 3 big updates every Season. The only do 2 and i think after the first 2 weeks numbers go down because people only go in to do little stuff like getting a catalist or farmin a few missions for ETA. Nothing much to do once the content is done and while i do enjoy the new content it feels like it not enought. Maybe they should spice things up like adding raids up to 8 players with leader board. I dunno but we need more content.

On the other side i do think i have more free time to play my single player games XD so i dunno i do want more but not too much so i think it is hard even for them to see how much they should add.

The First Descendant is poised for significant improvements in 2025, with a range of exciting updates and enhancements that will elevate the gaming experience. With an expanded roster of playable characters, refined mechanics, and more immersive content, players can look forward to a more dynamic and engaging world. The developers are dedicated to refining the gameplay, adding new features, and expanding the narrative, making 2025 a pivotal year for The First Descendant's growth and success.
The game overall seems to have stabilized at its current player count. As long as the player base is sustainable and people don't have much trouble finding queues for stuff, the game is fine. The problem will be if the game drops below that sustainable player base and queues start taking too long for anything.

What I worry about is the overall content because the player base leans far more on the casual side. Something like a traditional multiboss raid is going to be impossible for most people.

I see the future of this game grim. How will it do in 2025? Bad, realy bad if something does not happen. Way too many people who were interested in the game initially left for reasons, and those reasons have to be found, remedied and fixed.

i can't find parties for many missions and operations lately, and my fixed party have stopped playing the game altogether. I've been playing since day one and I've deiced that i'm going down with the ship and enjoy the trip while it lasts.

As long as people keep posting stuff like this

or this

and the devs keep listening to them, nothing will be done, because they will not search why so many people left the game, thus not find it, thus not be able to fix it, and the ship will go down.

how about just play without thinking too much, if u having fun then good, u dont have to invest all your time here, play other game too, if nexon close this game then so be it, if you want to purchase some stuff how about make sure u understand this is online game, some day this game will close and u are ok to part with that money ( i bought caliber under assumption this game gonna last at least 1 year, i am ok if they suddenly close, still hate nexon tho)

Those who think about past become depressed, those who think about future become anxious :lunar2019shockedpig:

The game is #77 in Steam bestsellers rating currently and it'll do just fine, especially when the devs will add coupe more gals and "hotsprings" costumes :lunar2019piginablanket:

Depends.

The Good: We know they'll pump out skimpy costumes so they'll continue to make decent money off those who stick around. It turned out the difficulty reduction in VV was a bug and it was returned to normal, so if they stick with actually having good mechanics for end game and the new tower is decent there's potential. VV will likely stay the main source for the pets and will bring people back again with Ines in a week or so and it's a step towards having farm content that doesn't make eyes bleed from boredom.

The Bad: On the other hand the new crab like the old ones is a cheese fest and not good design and the rewards are meh. Invasions are still boring and only worth running for the quick gold and to get through the RNG for Hailey which most vets already have. The other repeatable content isn't really all that engaging. If you have descendants that are poorly suited to it then it's a slog trying to kill everything but it's not hard. If you have Freyna or Bunny you breeze through it.

The Ugly: Bugs are still rampant and a large number of players don't have stable sessions. Freezing and crashes tied to UE5 are rampant right now and there's no ETA on a fix. The game is still on poor footing in terms of what it's going to be so it could go in any direction.

And the numbers are bad. The game isn't even hitting 5% of launch numbers on Steam despite more content and at a decent start at QoL fixes. The new season just launched with the game in the best overall state it's been yet it's fallen out of the Top 50 for both PS and Xbox. Let's not pretend it's in a good spot or where it could be if it weren't for so many poor decisions.

If the devs continue to refuse to add a mercy mechanic, the insane stupid unfair drop rates will result in the inevitable death of the game.

that is where WF has this game beat, is the player trading hall.

the rotating show in TFD is stupid, it's not what they promised, we still have to wait insanely long rotation times to MAYBE get the part we need.
I think it's not the quantity of content that matters like most players think but the quality.
This game is an okay looter shooter still in it's infancy but imo most of the players have a bland gaming pallet that craves pvp/ battle royal types of games so they would be satysfied with any update regardless of quality. I have sunk in over 30 hours so far and find some of the mechanics a little weak but the potential is high. Warframe has scratched my itch in the meantime.
