THE Sharen thread
Because I occasionally see comments, "She is only good for Infiltration, otherwise she is useless."

Personally I find Sharen good for more than Infiltration thus I currently have 2 builds I carried over to Ultimate Sharen

1 - Infiltrate, can be done without Ambush, have added the mod but never got to try it
Honestly I only did 3 station Outposts, I could never get her build to do 4 and now I find I just do not need to do Outposts anymore
I can get Outpost Amorphous elsewhere with 100% drop rate except Special Operation ones plus I got tired of all the times I try to Infiltrate but someone running around the area doing random stuff shows up and ruins it by attacking enemies
No build posted since I am sure enough people know how to do it

2 - Combat
Yes I have made a pure combat build
While not a area mobber Sharen can be done as a straight combat fighter focused on guns thus good for run-n-gun people with benefits
If things get bad, pop stealth, most enemies except Colossi ignore you letting you reposition safely
She is also the only one who in co-op if someone goes down, pop stealth and rez them without drawing aggro, safe rezzing is valuable except again not vs Colossi
Plus her stealth lets her just run through lasers something I did not know for a while

Never forget Colossi always see you so Stealth is useless but she can go gun focused against them for the personal challenge

How to use

A - Her 1 is good either if enemies get too close, kill low health, remove most of higher health thus easier to gun down
If you feel brave enough and got some tank in your build, you can run in and use it on some targets even bosses but not really Colossi and not the Void Vessel end Boss unless you know his attack pattern

B - Stealth good for reposition or safe ally rezzing

C - Third ability good to stun high health enemies except Colossi probably not bosses with red health who go through phases but might work on orange name and health bosses (forget offhand), also enemies who get too close you cannot finish off

D - Ult without Area Suppression best used at range vs groups, can use stealth to safely position for it
With Area Suppression you can either run in and out or do this 3 step
- Grapple or Stealth run in to spot among enemies
- Pop Ult in AoE around you
- Grapple or Stealth to leave

E - Since Sharen sometimes needs range to use Ult on groups, you can also run Scout and / or Sniper Rifle on her, Sniper BTW can be hipfired easy if you have a certain Setting turned on

Sharen Red mods

Release Cutting Force - tried, not worth it. It does shorten Cooldown but it also lowers damage and shortens the blade length plus the arc, too many negatives for one benefit, needs tweaking for better balance

Overcharged Edge - only for really daring people otherwise avoid. No way am I losing shield even for a damage buff. Would like to see a change but someone may like this brave to use mod

Void Domination - are you tired of the small red targeting box? Do you want to hit more than 10 enemies with faster lock-on? Apply this for a larger box that fills about 85% maybe 90% of your screen and allows hitting up to 20 enemies quicker. Still she needs an Ult fix for smaller groups and singles

BattleSuit Melting Rounds - probably made to buff her 1 but I would only use it in a premade group with friends using Bunny and / or Ines because I presume it buffs their damage, otherwise avoid

Area Suppression - not mandatory for a combat build but useful

Ambushed - not tried but might be useful in combat, have to check

Changes I would like

Ultimate - If fewer than max enemies (10) extra blades hit random targets instead of being reduced, this allows for more damage against smaller groups and singles, would also buff Void Domination mod

Release Cutting Force mod - Someone may prove with math the lower damage is fine for shorter cooldown but really keep original blade length and arc width, it is nerfed too much thus not a 0 balance result

Overcharged Edge mod - If someone likes playing daring leave it alone otherwise replace it

My current not finished build
Yellow mods not mandatory, yes I still have to max some mods out plus fill that last slot
Still good though for most content

I have a glass cannon build on mine specifically for outposts.

Void Domination - Just because I like her ultimate (not required)
Nimble Fingers - Skill Cooldown
Focus on Electric - Electric Power + Cooldown
Focus on Fusion - Fusion Power + Cooldown
Skill Extension - More duration for her stealth
MP Conversion - More cooldown minus MP
Battle of Stamina - Mainly for more Cooldown (not required)
Multitalanted - Cooldown boost after activating dimension skill
Skill Insight - Crit Rate (not required)
Skill Concentration - Crit Damage (not required)
Emergency Measures - Crit rate + Crit Damage (not required)

So with that, basically I stealth, then destroy 4 generators, and still in stealth one shot the boss with sword, if it doesn't crit, I immediately stealth and sword again. It's probably weird build pretty fun stealth build for outposts, and where I can run around, spam void domination every 10 seconds for fun of it. :]

You could use Sharen for doing things like 400% dungeon before, but she was definitely less effective in combat than many other Ds. She shine on outposts, of course, because she was build for that.
The updates around her ult release, did improve her use outside that.

It's ironic you've put together a thesis on Sharen but missed out on her best build. I'm putting together an Ambushed build right now that can spam her 1 with almost no cooldown, remains in stealth all the time and uses Afterglow built for 100% crits to one-shot outpost commanders and otherwise help kill bosses. It's not gonna be as good against mobs as Ines or against Colossi as Hailey - but it's a solid and very fun character.

Active Camouflage is definitely the star of the show with her, not just for reviving teammates but for not being affected by those annoying laser beams.

I love Sharen, and I still haven't activated ult Sharen. Nice review, btw.

My basic, regular Sharen can do up to 20 million dmg to 10-20 enemies max. The only problem I see is that her 4th skill only shoots up to 2 daggers at a single target, and that is what makes her 4th skill useless to bossing. This is just a ridiculous "nerf" granted by design.

Outposts can be done with a bare minimum "vanilla" Sharen, because it requires only two duration mods, no energy activator, no catalysts needed. She needs 18 sec duration to successfully infiltrate an outpost. The other slots can be HP, Crit. Damage/Resistances. She is fun to play, especially reviving others and shooting at mobs through walls (any Electric descendant can do that).

My simple build to mobbing uses Veteran's Tactics, which has a 19.2% chance to reset a cooldown, and has a 5sec cooldown. Combined with Ambushed, I can get two ability cooldowns reset from time to time.

For improvement, I wish devs create a new trans mod that just fixes her 4th allowing all daggers to hit a single target. Doing so, regular Sharen could easyly defeat Defiler in one shot without having to rely on Ult Sharen.

For now Sharen is the best for 250% missions coz of stupid lazers blocking your way. :kodama:

About Ambushed red mod
It converts your 3rd skill to AOE skill with good damage, also when she kills enemy with critical hit from skill or weapon while in stealth Avtive Camouflage activates. This also works with Active Camouflage itself. Firing or using skills are not cancel Active Camouflage.

Doesnt ult Sharen have a shotgun build that lets her 1-2 shot every colossi up to ....gluttony, i think it was? Vash was covering it if i recall.

I never used her for outpost infiltrations, and now that you can get the AM elsewhere as well, that part of her has pretty much been completely killed.
Nobody since her Ult release/module release should be saying shes only good for doing outposts with stealth, if they do/did they simply don't play the game.

I just use her for the standard spam 1 and 3 cloak ambush build, or Solo Gluttony ..hes quite easy to obliterate with the right shotgun build on her.

Like a few of the other descendants, Sharen is fine, once you really work out a lot of issues.

With some descendants, you almost can't fail, but with several of the others, you have to work through a lot of details and often have to grind out to find just the right gear to make the build go anywhere other than their primary trick.
My ult sharen ambushed build got me through VEP 1-26 pretty good, 100% crit rate, 5,7 million damage aoe every second plus ult every 3 seconds (roughly), 100% invis uptime... Much more fun to play than most of my other builds..

After 26 you have to switch to a gun build ofc, and Ines is so much stronger... Still, sharen is fun

She is never gonna be the best solution to a problem thats why you see players downplay her all the time , You could do something with Blaze as well like gun blaze and make him capable of beating every content. But is he legit gonna be the best solution to the problem ??

Take for example last dagger, why is everybody suddenly hopping to last dagger, why not excava ? why not albion? why not relic??

Its the same thing with descendants also

Like most things, what you're referring to is what is known as 'dominant strategy'. I.E. once players find the optimal way, all others are by comparison garbage. Sharen doesn't get much attention since others outshine her in most content. Can she do it? Sure. Can others do it faster? Absolutely.
