Easyanticheat is causing BSOD
Good evening! So, I've been playing this game for a while now when all the sudden, the game started causing BSOD on my PC after launching the game. The Easy anticheat shows me an error message. Soon after my PC goes to the blue screen of death.

Coincidentally, I started facing this issue after launching Thrones and Liberty for the first time.

Software doesn't "cause" BSOD, its a symptom showing a likely hardware issue. Doesn't matter that you played fine for a while, hardware goes bad over time. And no, it doesn't matter if "other games" play fine.

You would do best by spending time troubleshooting your PC to determine the source. If you have a 13th or 14th gen Intel CPU, start there.

I don't use Intel

Yes, but the other thousands of users don't have an issue, open the BSOD logs and find the driver that is tanking it. (But updating drivers/bios is never a bad place to start)

its not that at all. look up the new windows update and Easy anti cheat. if your on 24h2 a lot of games are not working and making windows crash

Dumbest take I've ever read... Software can 100% cause BSODs...

What does the error log show as the cause of the BSOD?

You got me now, because I did not pay attention to it at all xD. All I know is that this only happened a few times. First time it happened when I first launched Thrones and Liberty and received an error message from Easy Anticheat (don't know why either). Then, BSOD showed up. Coincidentally, the same thing happened to this game a few times after that.

I don't think it's just a coincidence.

The only thing that usually cause this program wise is the operating program like windows o.o But sometimes faulty hardware can do it also >.>

Apparently EasyAntiCheat a "Kernel-Level Anti-Cheat".
Kernal-Level run code can indeed cause a System crash (BSOD) without being a specific hardware issue.

Just as an FYI, when dealing with Kernal-Level code it's preferable to cause a system crash instead of catching and ignoring errors. This is because ignoring or continuing from said error/s could result in irreversible damage to the operating system.

A similar issue is what happened recently with the CrowdStrike crashes.

Anyway, there's a duplicate post in the discussions where that particular user may have had an out-of-date version of Windows (or a pirated copy where updates are disabled), if that helps.

I've personally had conflicts with other games regarding the Anti-cheat.
The fix in those cases was to remove the EasyAntiCheat and then using the Steam repair to trigger a re-install.

Well, it turns out it is indeed a KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE after getting the error message from EAC.

Fyi, that was my thread and already disproven that my Windows was out of date nor was it a pirated copy. Turns out, Windows doesn't actually update the kernel to tell you that it's on the latest build. Microsoft programs it to show the latest Windows you have only if it's core programming is actually updated.

You mean the Easy Anti Cheat that is regularly a problem with a variety of games across the entire Steam discussion forum? And it's the same Easy Anti Cheat that I believe was bought by Epic Games who hates and is in competition with Steam..... Go figure.:jawatongue:

Sorry, but bullsh t. Yes software can "cause" a BSOD issue.

Looks like I fixed it! It was probably something related to Windows 11.

Hi, I know it's been months since you fixed the issue, but your post is the best lead I can find.

This isn't a First Descendant issue, but an EAC issue nonetheless. I recently set up a new PC for my brother and after running Fortnite for a while it would bluescreen and give the same KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE that you reported with EasyAntiCheat_EOS.sys seemingly being the cause in the resulting dump file.

Now, I would like to ask exactly what you did to fix the issue. I know you attached a video, but the video lists multiple fixes including a full reset. and I would like to avoid having to do a full reset if I can avoid it.
