As to why, what are your specs?
I just turn my graphics down whenever doing 400% or anything with a high number of mobs with freyna
It's not Freyna, it's your graphics and the lack of optimization in the game. And Freyna is not OP. She's godmode and many of us like it that way. So quit trying to find a way to to complain about Freyna's ability when it has nothing to do with Freyna's ability.
If on a laptop, understand the head is all absorbed into the frame of that case and dispersed through small fans for graphics and the CPU, whether on one chip or not. It's very hard to keep that from overheating and if the chip overheats it errors and the game will just close to protect the system from getting garbage data that can destroy your directories, caches, etc. if it was misread.
If it's a Desktop, clean the air filters if it has them. If you aren't ready to do this yourself then take it somewhere but get the dust blown out of the system as it will make things overheat and same crash result to protect the system. It can also be your cpu and depending on the system it can also be a fan is running a little slow, just depends on the safeguards in place based on the brand of system you have.
Lastly but possibly something more likely the issue, is the Power Supply if a Desktop, that the Power Supply is reaching maximum and overheating and / or not able to provide the power needed and the game crashes.
Look at your hardware and maintenance as these are usually the culprits.
AG6 i9-13900HX, RTX 4090, 16,0" WQHD IPS 240Hz (GM6PX9X)
13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900HX 2.20 GHz
64gb ram. i play on ultra settings and this issue only occurs on TFD and no other game.
it also happens when im solo with my ajax, not just freyna
Non of these is the issue in my case. i play on laptop/desktop but i played elden ring on max settings, mhw, ff14, warframe and many other games all on ultra. there is no overheating and i cleaned the filter about 5 weeks ago, as i do the filters once every 3 months. i also have no overheating, never had. this must purely be a game problem because it didnt happen before freyna´s event.
The remedy:
Downloaded and installed XTU. Intel Extreme Tuning Utility.
Use it to tweak your performance core ratio. My sweet spot was at 54, down from 57. May differ for your setup.
There is a known instability issue with 13th and 14th generation Intel CPUs when running games that use Unreal Engine and XTU is basically a bandaid fix until they (if they ever will) sort it out.
Its definitely the same issue we found between deleting the webcache folder and the GameUserSettings.ini
I literally had this start happening to me again when the patch dropped. Something with the games engine and hotfix changed the way it reads the ini file and the webcache data.
not always, sometimes i just pick up stuff and boom, game closes without hesitation. it also happens when i want to emote in albion which is stupid
Its not a skill thats causing it. The devs have been changing graphical parameters behind the scenes and if your INI file doesnt match the same call commands when certain abilities activate or simply when they game loads the game / zone; it will crash.
The game looks visually different, they added or implemented something to create a depth of field look as distant objects & planes are blurry. It whatever they are doing to "optimize" the games graphics and stabilize FPS.
just go and do this.
go to [C:\Users\ACCOUNT\AppData\Local\M1\Saved]
Deleted the webcache folder
go to [C:\Users\ACCOUNT\AppData\Local\M1\Saved\Config\Windows]
Deleted GameUserSettings.ini (this was 24kb before deletion, new file is 25kb)
launch game.
Been having same issue. Crash to windows, no error or anything.
After alot of troubleshooting, reading, logging and alot of other ♥♥♥♥ and thoughts i belive ive gotting it fixed. Aleast on my pc.. Long story short, i fixed it by debloating my GPU driver.
Ran NVClean install on a fresh dl of the newest driver, only selected Driver and physX leaving everything else out.
Ran DDU from safe mode, installed the debloated driver and thats it.
I use to maybe be able to play a maximum of 3 or 4 hours, then game would crash to windows.
Now i have run for about 12 hours without any crash,
I belive the problem is created by all the endless stuff that Geforce Experience, or Nvidia APP if thats what u are using, are doing in the background.
Found some Nvidia log files where geforce experience was logging to, that show heaps of data, regarding rewards, being excecuted every damn second. Connections to multiple different nvidia servers, trying to log in and getting info about rewards, trying to send notifications and all sort of other stuff happening. Ive counted about 50 events it was logging, in the span of 1 sec.
But the kicker was, when i found find a timestamp, matching a crach, it would always be right after, a huge amount of data being logged about the games that are available on geforce now, all atrributes, caracteristics, models, settings an on and on and on and on and on, coming 4 times for each command. until the crash happened.
So heres my reasoning, my fix. Hopes it does for others what it did to to me.
Side note.
Running
3080ti
19-14900k
32GB DDr5
windows 11.
Nvidia driver. 566.03
Just a gamer, with some coding background..
I could be very wrong here in my reasoning, i just observed this and made my conclusions.
Ansel - Geforce experience and shadowplay, seems to be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ my GPU.
I was thinking maybe its something along the lines of the enzo/luna skill graphics bug
https://www.reddit.com/r/TheFirstDescendant/comments/1f5jw9k/hello_guys_is_there_a_way_to_fix_this_bug_its/
only instead of return to normal after 2-3 sec as it would for most people, completely crash instead
It seems they still haven't sorted out that particular bug either, reflex dlss etc. all make no difference it still seems to happen sometimes.
