"Stealth only. Leave if you're not stealth!" weird encounter when grinding for HP Collector

so, I hit up Vespers last night, like I always do, and noticed a couple of players (won't mention them by name since I don't want people harassing them) waiting for the mission to start

this isn't particularly unusual since I know some people like to wait for the mission to start because they're hunting for the MP or HP Collector that drops

I took out some random trash with my sniper rifle while I was waiting since we still had like 3 minutes left (need more proficiency since I'm working towards mastery rank 12 so I can prestige, lol)

both of these players suddenly told me "stealth only", "please leave if you're not stealth", "don't kill boss", and so on

I told them I was only here to farm for the HP Collector, then they asked me to leave AGAIN before the mission started

it's a quest on the open world (and as far as I'm aware, the rewards don't change based on whether you stealth this quest or not), so I did what I always do and blew up all of the containers, then killed the boss with my machine gun and teleported out of there (in case they had something else to say)

were they going for an achievement or am I just missing something here?

first time I've ever encountered something like that so far, so it'd be nice to actually know what the player is trying to accomplish if I ever encounter someone doing this again

Outposts are affected by stealth. Complete the first part before boss spawns in stealth and amoprh drop is 25%. If not it is only 5%.

If you let them stealth, you both have a chance at extra rewards.

Some can only be obtained by stealth.

Going Stealth is definitely viable and you should let them do it, since you profit from it as well with additional drops. Just hide behind one of the walls, until the boss spawns.

Though the part about not killing the boss is totally nonsense. People started to use Outposts for farming, since enemies are constantly spawning in, as long as the boss doesn't die. However, if they're doing this sort of grinding in public lobbies, then they've no right to forbid you to play missions as intended. That's what private lobbies are there for in the end.

God no, lol. I don't care much for Bunny players because they just kill everything before I even have a chance to play the game, lol. I'm running Gley at the moment. The reward I want drops from the boss (HP Collector), so I just ignored them when the mission started and they told me "stealth only", and suggested I don't kill the boss.

I was just confused as to why they were doing it since I've literally NEVER seen people do that before and I've been farming for HP Collector for days now. I just thought it was weird.

That's provided if the boss is not instant killed and you are "late" for the party. lol.

Stealth only affects if you get an extra reward and in no way changes drop %'s.

Stealth only affects if you get an extra reward and in no way changes drop %'s.

if you stealth touch one gen before being discovered and go loud, it seems to be 5%

I do understand why it's better to let them stealth and take out all container first but no idea why not killing boss.

They might want to farm the spawns for levels. I do that sometimes. But what they should be doing if they are booking the place is to open a private map.

stealth amps the rewards and some items only drop from a successful stealth

You have to sabo all 3-4 stations for the stealth to even kick in.

Only doing a successful infiltrate will net you the POTENTIAL not guaranteed extra rewards.

If you let them stealth the generators and then attack any monster, you get the full rewards, including the stealth rewards. It's a good idea to let Sharens do their thing and join the fight afterwards.

Just make sure to stay out of sight - meaning, hide behind a wall. The monsters see you stupidly far away and if anyone is seen by any monster, the stealth is messed up. If you hide where the Sharens hide and join the fight as soon as the boss spawns, it's full rewards for everyone.
