Why do Ultimate Reactors suck?
Even though I have a Thundercage equipped in one of my slots I dont get the bonus if I switch to one of my other two guns? Epic Reactors work if you have a gun matching it equipped in a weapon slot even if your not using it. Why are you limited to 1 gun with the Ultimate?

Ultimate reactors carry me all the time, I'm watching out for the perfect sub-stat roll for my build all the time... I have no idea what this topic is on about.

the main problem with Ultimate reactors is you can't target farm the ultimate weapon and its random!

if they made it where you could farm for one type of ultimate reactor instead of a mix plate this wouldnt be a issues! but as it stands now the odds of you getting the affixes you want with the ultimate weapon you want is insane

Ultimate reactors forcing you to be holding the weapon is lame. If you don't switch to the required weapon before using the skill, you lose the reactor bonus...
They should simply require you to have the ultimate weapon equipped.

No. Otherwise purple reactors will be useless..

Isnt that the point though? Blues? Useless compared to Purples. You should always be upgrading in a looter game not downgrading. Ultimate reactors only fill a certain limiting role compared to being actually Ultimate.

Let me try and explain. Let’s say you found a Ulti reactor a non attribute/thunder cage one you love to use on say Valby. Your running around having fun then decide you want to blow stuff up with a launcher so you swap to you other equipped weapon. You’re now 60% weaker just because you swapped weapons while thundercage is still equipped. That sucks now you have to swap to a weaker purple reactor just so you can be 20% weaker and still use your other gear you grinded for and probably spent time upgrading with modules and rerolling stats.

This game would be better if we had loot filters and could specify the stats and requirements we wanted to hunt for. Ultimate Reactors are pretty underwhelming because Ultimate weapons themselves are underwhelming. There are like... 4 good ultimate weapons? Thunder Cage, Fallen Hope(For Freyna), Python, and Enduring Legacy. I haven't taken the others to their absolute limit, because crystals take time and I don't have energy activator blueprints so lemme know if there's another good Ultimate weapon.

You can target reactors too, If I remember correctly, open M and look at Difficulty Rewards.

You can already upgrade.

What you're doing is doing kindergarden color association and arguing an extremely silly and ridiculous point.

How about this: pretend every purple is Yellow. In fact, let's make purples be yellows. Would that be fine? No stat change, of course. Still 140% with just having a gun equipped.

What you're arguing for isn't progression: we have that. What you're arguing for is LINEAR PROGRESSION instead of HORIZONTAL UPGRADE PATHS.

I want CHOICE. I like that I do slightly less skill damage for more flexibility, versus the alternative. What "color" it represents is ridiculous.

Yellow reactors actually is good. In most of cases when you use abilities you have the same wep in a hands.
Suck is rng and unability to reroll stats just like we can do with weapon. What a purpose for all those mats from reactors, there's should be reroll. Also we need reroll for jewelry pieces, there's the same level of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with rng.

How does it take away choice when you still have to own the weapon and still have it equipped in your weapon slot? There’s still less flexibility because you still have to have the right ulti weapon for the right ultimate reactor. Purple reactors don’t stop working if you have one for smg and have a smg equipped then switch to a sniper. Ultimate reactors shouldn’t stop working either if you still have the right ultimate gun equipped.

Ultimate reactors actually limit players choices, since you are limited to that specific weapon in your hands when you use a skill. A limitation is not giving you choices, it is creating a problem just to come up with "solutions" that shouldn't even be necessary if you didn't create the problem in the first place. That limitation sucks.
I want to freely use all three weapons I have equipped without losing skill power if I don't waste time switching to that one weapon the reactor wants.

Only blues are useless.
There are many good purple weapons that are just as good or better(at least in dps) than some/all of their yellow counterpart. For example top assault rifle isn't fallen hope, it's eternal willpower by far unless fallen hope is used by freyna.

Also this is probably why yellow reactor drops are so annoyingly common.

Because 99% of ultimate weapons suck compared to purple weapons anyways.
Yes there are exceptions, but they're few and far between.

The main draw for ultimate reactors right now is pure ability damage characters that don't really need to fire their gun and instead just hold it as a 'stat stick'.
