If a group made the Pyromaniac fight a 15 minute fight, Swamp Walker would end up being a 20 minute fight. It would probably be longer than that because this would have been snowballing from previous bosses. Meanwhile, solo timer for competent players would be sub 8 minutes. The game would be completely messed up in this state.
Well I've been farming him solo so I dunno.
bosses should be able to be solo, so best to start with a good foundation. the last 3 bosses you cannot solo at all.
can't tank any of the damage, even with the fire resist stuff
people also say "just dodge", but you literally HAVE to get hit by some of this fire because it has tracking properties, so they'll just follow/chase you, regardless of which direction you move (like when he launches the big fireball, even if you get out of the way, you eat damage anyway from the homing stuff, which doesn't do AS much damage, but unavoidable damage either way)
current stats are as follows:
9911.3 firearm ATK
6221.61 skill power
8657.12 DEF
2809.63 max HP
EDIT: for those curious, I was only able to get his shield down by like 20% or so before using up all 3 deaths
EDIT2: tried it a couple of more times on solo to see if anything would change, but nope, it's impossible
I don't have the survivability with Gley to take all this damage, so there's absolutely no way for me to clear like this, unfortunately, even on Normal
I could see Hard being more manageable because you have access to WAY better gear by that point, but forcing us to fight this boss with level 50+ stuff is just trash, man
we should be fighting this guy AFTER clearing the main campaign
we have nowhere to farm for level 60-70+ weapons to fight this level 66 guy with and it just feels unfair af, tbh
Agreed.
That's what I see as well.
Also until you get buffed up by alot you need resists on then after they really don't matter.
I have a bit on just my modules atm and it's fine.
Max defense
Max Heatlh
ARE A MUST on basically everyone.
?????????????????????????????????
I've been applying everything I've obtained up to this point. The hell do you mean? It's not like I can get MORE of something unless it drops for me, lol.
Also, I'm running Max HP 22%, so I'm not sure what you want from me, man. You think I WANT this HP? I'm working with what I'm being given here.
The firearm attack has to kinda be higher on Gley anyway since the only SKILL she has is Massacre, which you're not gonna really be using in this fight anyway, for the most part. Life Siphon also deals damage, but again, you won't be using it against this boss (mainly because the adds aren't gonna give you enough life orbs to make it count and using Life Siphon on a boss, rather than trash mobs, is kinda wack).
I've been trying to farm for HP Collector and Super Senses to help, but neither of them have dropped. Hey, if you know how to get more damage while being locked out of the level 60+ content, feel free to tell me, but right now, there's literally nothing I can do outside of trying to farm for red/gold modules (which aren't dropping anyway).
Every other weapon I need to improve my attack is locked behind this Pyro clear.
EDIT: Skill duration and skill damage are good for Gley, I understand that much, but after fighting this guy for hours, I can guarantee you that you will NOT find instances for using Massacre in this fight (I could see it being the case for Hard mode though). The adds either:
A. don't drop life orbs
or
B. drop them in the poison stuff so you can't grab them without risking dying anyway
USE A DIFFERENT DESCENDANT! They're not all good against every opponent.
I haven't leveled any of my mods, weapons, or anything yet because I'm waiting to unlock Hard mode to actually farm weapons and stuff that are worth using my mats/gold on. Everything I have right now is replaceable or can be improved.
"Why the hell is there a time limit anyway when your rewards aren't even judged based on how fast you clear? You either clear and get the rewards or you DON'T. Simple as that."
And thats why it has a timer ... so you can fail . As simple as that , if your build is trash you dont .
"Anyway, I've run all out of ideas here. What's the secret?"
Not be a useless player , and first step is not crying .
"Also, the flashbang **** absolutely needs to go. Tired of seeing this dude disappear, then we have to suffer 10 seconds of DPS downtime just to grapple out of the AoE before we're allowed to fight again."
So ... your excuse is that in a fight of 10 minutes losing maybe 30 seconds is what made you fail ?
Considering the fact we always lose DPS downtime during that, yeah. It's easy to see how you could fail. You DO realize people clear these fights with like, less than a minute at times, right...?
Don't underestimate the difference something as insignificant as 30 seconds can make.
