Normal vs. Ultimate Descendants

I know Ultimate Descendants have more socketed module slots and a few exclusive skill modules, but do they have higher HP, Defense and shield than the normal version? Is the difference big?

I used that item to reset the character and socket a module slot 2 times for my starting Ajax. I thought Ultimate Descendants didn't have higher stats. Now I am wondering if I wasted the items to upgrade him and should have saved them for Ultimate Descendants.

they do get some better stats. Theres a youtube video that show cases the differences, the only one that the stat difference may matter is Gley vs Ultimate gley that gets almost double base defense stat.

Ultimate Descendants have increased stats (such as Health, Max Shield, and Defense), extra Pre-Catalyzed Mod Slots, different appearances, and Ultimate Modules. But the stat differences are rly small most of the time.

Also say if I unlocked regular bunny maid outfit, can I use her on ultimate bunny? Or is it a whole new character?

Yes, you can use all additional costumes from regular version on Ults

The real reason you want an ultimate character is for the specific build that comes with it's exclusive transcendent module. If you don't want the build that uses that, the stat buffs are very minor, and catalysing slots is quick and easy.

Gley is a minor exception with her defence stat being much higher when ultimate. It's something like an extra 1000, and when you look at all the defence mods people are running it may tick up to 3000 to 5000 additional defence when fully loaded out.

Also a quick question: Say I use the crystallization catalyst on regular bunny, will it transfer over to ultimate bunny when I get her or should I just save the catalysts?

I assume they don't carry over. Seeing how transcendent mods specify both variants, the game handles them as separate entities. Cosmetics carry over for the reason that it would be a scam if they didn't
