Why leave Special Operations too early?
A majority of players leave before the event is completed. Is there something going on here?

Special operations don't have any drops aside from the mission rewards.

That said, people usually leave, when they have farmed what they came for or after finishing leveling their char/weapon or whatever they're there for.

And overall, for kuiper mining operations i've seen most people stick with the mission to the end usually, but defense missions can take so long, that it's no surprise that most people drop out early.

And keep in mind, that the game offers the drop out by design, so they've every right to drop out at these points with no obligations towards the other players. And there's no private mode for these, so it's currently rather the devs job to find a solution for this, not the players (making defense like 3-4 times faster would most likely solve this problem most of the time for example).

He's talking about Special operations not infiltration Operations (dungeons).

People leave early in Spec Ops primarily cause of a few things

1. They finished leveling whatever (weapon or descendant)
2. Don't like the group make up (for whatever reason, but don't be surprised if they leave before it even starts)
3. Crashes
4. They recongise the chance to getting to the next wave reward is low to non existant or going to take a long time

That about covers most of the reasons, sure there are others...

Now why people leave Inflitation Operations are similar to the above, but there are those that are just farming a specific resource that only drops there and will leave after they got their resource. If they are doing this on hard mode, then they are following some pretty bad advice from these youtube influencers....

I had to explain to one guy I was playing with, that it is not actually efficient. because later down the line you're going to find you may need the amorphous material from completing the operation at a later date! So you have to do it ALL over again! So in terms of saving your own time in the long run, abandoning a run after getting a particular crafting mat unless you already got every gun and descendant is pretty bad advice!

The only special operation worth playing is Block Kuiper Mining - Sterile Lands.
All the others are super slow to get through.
The XP/gold per minute doesn't even come close.
The White Night Gulch operation is similar but with the points being much further apart and XP sharing being caped at 150 meters it is simply inferior.

Why would you play for 15-30 minutes for a CHANCE to get an AMP when you could run an infiltration mission in under 10 and get a guaranteed drop (or 2 in hard mode).

That leaves only one motivation.
Completing the award for getting to X waves Y amount of times...

They play the game as THEY LIKE , if you have a problem with that YOU need to go private not them.

Spec Ops are rubberband nightmares for some reason. Not all of them but it just seems much worse in those things and it gets annoying. Not to mention that sometimes I'm leveling and realize what I am leveling isn't going to help the group since the last wave was probably the best I could do with my currently equipped setup.

If the other players are doing better than me and all three decide to stay I'll normally stay but I'm very cautious and doing a lot of duck and cover tactics so as to not force someone to carry me more than they already might be.

If one other player decides to leave I'm gone because I most definitely won't be of much help without a full team and my gear not up to snuff. If they all want to stay but I noticed one or more of them was struggling like me or worse I leave. Two or more players struggling are not going to get through the next couple of waves.

Defence missions are bad because of this, even if one guy has the damage, the horde of enemies is so much that they overwhelm objective and destroy it.

The kuple mining ones are waay more forgiving of leavers
