Women can't handle real guns every one knows this.
So they added handguns to....you know to be woke!
All joking aside though... things seem pretty useless compared to the other general ammo weapons.
They move at 630 while SMGs run at 600, the 5% extra movement speed is not worth doing around half the damage.
You can also zip around quite easily with them, while most other weapons will slow you down while firing.
Those numbers are not 'when aiming' that's just basic sprint speed with the weapon equipped/mounted.
AFAIK, both SMGs and handguns have the same speed when moving, firing, and aiming.
There might be some guns that are different though. But most of the guns I look at have those 3 numbers the same.
Edit: I mean each gun has those 3 numbers the same. Not that it has the same number in all guns.
2. I use handgun as "restock" tool - it has mods for max ammo and convert ammo type
One benefit of handguns is that your speed is not slowed down when aiming/shooting down the sights. This can work for some characters that rely on moving such as Bunny that triggers her AOE skill by moving certain distance. I would still not use handguns but I'm sure someone came with some interesting build for them as well.
