No. There is no reason to spend money.
Of course you can save time and effort and make things nicer if you do, but you really don't have to.
Only basics im missing is Jayber and Yujin now edit: and Luna which I was going to purchase. However, I read she is bad but I still want to try her out and it'll add to MR. In a few hours I was able to get 2 of her parts. I hope to start crafting her today
I've unlocked most ult weapons and have thunder cage fully upgraded and working on another
Most friendly p2w game I ever played
In all seriousness though
I'm broke but if I had the money I'd probably just drop it on 1 single ultimate just to support the game (probably Gley)
, buy some character slots and some cosmetics. Farm the rest and only spend on cosmetics because you can't farm them
I see no reason to spend on boosters. Honestly the drop rates are pretty bad on some things but for most stuff I need I haven't needed much. Maybe Because I bought Enzo right off the bat and farmed Sharen. So far I'm like $20 in and have a ton of stuff. I'm working my way up in hard mode bosses having a good time
All game cycles are grind.
You run different activities to grind.
And you can get everything by grind except shop cosmetics.
There is no "end" or something like that, so you can play that speed as you want.
No rush, no pressure.
progress
convenience
go fast
etc.
Are all just lame attempts by fanboys to relabel pay to win so that they can claim that the term doesn't apply to the game they like.
If you are being honest, you would just admit that the game is P2W, then say it isn't that bad, you don't mind, or that you find it fair. But to try to relabel it and make up new terms and definitions to defend the game from the truth is just laugh able, and I say this as someone that already dropped money on the game (for cosmetics).
Can you buy some of the most shought after upgrading materials? Yes.
Can you buy characters for real cash? Yes.
Above answers suggest TFD is pay to win if you want it to be.
Can you get all of the above for free? No, I'm not aware of any way to get boosters but the rest can be farmed.
Yeah, the game definitely has P2W options, but these are not from the worst end of P2W.
I've only bought the seasonal battlepass upgrade for 10 euros and only after I had already leveled it enough to see I'm definitely going to complete it. Seasons are two months, so these would be 5 euros for me per month.
The other MTX content doesn't really interest me due to its pricing so I'm fine without it.
