Will you max out Luna ?, doesn't it feel like a waste ?

I might, once I'm done with ult lepic. Octavia was one of my favs in Warframe due to versatility.

Considering how many activators I got trying to trying to farm just one ult descendant I don't consider it that much of a waste now.

Leveling new descendants feels like a waste in general. I would imagine they would address this issue at some point, so until they do, i'm sticking with my two descendants (ulepic for bosses and ubunny for everything else).

Why would it be a waste? If the current content couldn't be cleared with non-ultimate Descendants, the game would be dead right now because not everyone will want to grind for such low drop rate components.

I max out her just so it adds up to mastery rank, if gameplay will be meh with her in the process, ill never touch her again.

It depends, cause characters like Enzo and Sharen have unqiue in game mechanics that make maxing them out currently worth it even if they do get an ultimate version later down the road... So it really depends on whether Luna offers something similar and unique only to her. If not then its highly unlikely that I will spend catalysts and other resources on her. It really ultimately depends on whether she is fun to play or not...

If TFD is gonna work anything like Warframe, her being a new character means her Ultimate is a very long way off, so far that you'd be able to farm 10 to 20 times (probably) more the materials than you used upgrading the normal version by the time the ultimate version is out

I was saving reactors and catalyst for when I build Ult Bunny or Ult Ajax. I will just buy Luna and use them on her. Then use her to keep farming and releveling several times in the process. By the time an Ult Luna comes out I will be prepared.

All games are in essence wasting our time. Doesnt matter if you max her out or not. Her Ultimate will not be out for a very very long time so if you want to be her she will last for ages

is there any problem? We have upgraded most of our characters and just play one character at 1 moment.

There is gonna be buffs and nerfs to guns and descendants none stop at this point in the game and this isnt a PVP game. Play what you like it will be meta sooner or later if thats your thing.

Technically yes, but does it matter ? It was the same issue in Warframe and nobody bat an eye.

Also Luna being the latest entry mean she's nowhere near getting the ult variant.

I'd say, similarly to warframe, don't max her out but do invest if you like her. Put the item to enhance mod capacity, put 1-2 polarity and you should have largely enough mod to make it viable up to hard molten fortress.
