Valby and the term ' Laundry '
Why did the devs or rather the translators think this was a proper term to use in western countries?

Uh... Why not? What's wrong with that word? It's not a slur, not an insult. It's literally just washing your clothing. Do people in the "western countries" not wash their clothes? Because they find it "insulting" or something?

What sort of low tier bait is this?

Not the best Jester farm out there tho.

Squirtle used "Laundry" on Charmander.
It's Super Effective!

In all seriousness they could have picked a better name but it's not the end of the world if they leave it as is.

I still don't get what's wrong with the word "Laundry" at all. By itself or in context of Valby's abilities.

Is it some sort of "western" thing to be offended by laundry that I'm too "eastern" to understand? Do people in the "west" not clean their clothes..?

They could have come up with something more creative considering Valby uses water a lot o.O

Laundry in the context of not actually doing the action of ' washing clothes ' can be seen as derogatory.

I think the implication is that OP pretends to be offended because Valby is female and using the word laundry implies that she does things that were traditionally done by females. Very misogynistic and whatnot, yada yada, be more inclusive and progressive etc.
In the West, females can't do female things, they have to be more like males because otherwise it's reinforcing stereotypes and that's somehow bad.

To some people it's a matter of sexism.
For a long time women were reduced to, or rather seen as, mere kitchen and laundry slaves... and well... she has one ability named "Clean Up", another one named "Laundry Bomb" and an effect called "Laundry".... it just sounds all very offputting, almost like the devs are trying to tell us something about her as a female character and it simply doesn't sit right in this day and age.

To others it's just the name itself makes little sense.
You're not doing the Vulgusses' laundry nor are you trully washing their clothes or cleaning up anything, so why call it laundry effect or laundry bomb or clean up? Just weird.

Wow... People are offended by the word "laundry"... The "west" is truly lost, huh.
