I tend not to grind for ANYTHING in TFD unless I really feel like it, so I've yet to experience any frustrations when it comes to dealing with RNG.
Thats for sure luck, spent half the day to get half the parts but thats not even a point. The fact that you need a special character to use special invis to get special parts if you want any semblance of reasonable time investment rather than taking way slower route, is just insane. On top with jank mechanics where you can be seen if your invis was running out and you hid a way a second before going visible, or enemies walking out of outpost and seeing you (in case you do not have maxed out power duration and got to do 2 diactivations, hide, wait for invis go off cd and use it again to take care of other two barrels or w/e the fk those are).
The other thing that sucks is the high amount of void shards required for reactors. Fortunately the void shards grind will be patched in the next update.
I'm bored to death at the moment. The only remaining items I have to get are ALL locked behind Outposts. Oh, they are so, so boring.
It's such a shame. Sharen is an interesting character they needed to develop, yet all they could come up with is Outposts??
If you do the Special Operations the shards aren't a problem. I have literally thousands of each type.
its behind an outpost BUT you dont need sharen to snag the amp.
it doesnt make it any better or faster lol. outpost farming suckssss
Infiltrations are the "dungeon runs".
Without fixing any of my Sharen slots I can solo just about all of them, though some are messier than others. I have two good guns levelled so obviously that helps but I typically use ThunderCage.
Actually I find Outposts relaxing because I usually go Private Instance. The RNG is stupid and sometimes you don't get drops for a very long time but they did shorten the respawn time from 5 min to 1 min.
Seriously the first thing you should do even before investing in any descendent is to get yourself a really solidly built gun to carry you through any content no matter what descendent you are using.
Thunder Cage is the most broken one. Not the best for colossus but it can still get the job done -- I could clear Hard Mode solo-able colossus with my Thunder Cage. Not fast but possible, and with descendents with no Energy Activators or assigned slots.
I use this versatile build https://gq-game-mods.blogspot.com/2024/07/tfd-thunder-cage-build.html
Or maybe because they are stupid to play and people just level them for Mastery XP and just forget it.
I grinded one out (I wanted every descendent) and every single skill has a long time delay. By the time your bombs from your first skill explode, Bunny has already killed everything in this room and the next two.
They had to do SOMETHING for stealth before the 'this game needs a stealth character' rants. However, the outposts seem to be the only good use for Sharen imho, can't really get close enough to collosi, I suppose going stealth and sniping COULD work but nothing in the game really stands still long enough without trying to kill you. Her 'ambush' doesn't have a timer so I'm not really sure how long it works or if it works at all. Just says attacking from this mode goes into ambush 100% damage...okay but for how long? I look for an icon when i run outposts and attack from stealth but I don't see it...
Anyway, I feel your concern, putting AM under a stealth mechanic/character is not QoL gameplay. I'm old and for me I think its all about money. New game...need to pay for start up costs/loans/payroll/utilities/equipment etc. So the premise is to put a lot of things(cosmetics, Ults, upgrade mats) in the cash shop and hope people open their wallet which is happening. Put the Ultimates in a high grind/low drop mechanics to push sales in the cash shop...by also putting more skimpy ♥♥♥♥ on the females to pull more pervs.
Sharen has no real skimpy skin...she's fused to her suit or something right? Anyway she can still be bought in the cash shop if a player's frustration gets the best of them and they want to skip the grind. 'All about the Benjamins baby". They are reading some of our ideas/complaints/suggestions/bug reports etc. but like it says in their universal reply...we hear you but don't expect an immediate change.
Some of the high percentage ultimate drops are in those last few HM collosi, go figure. Now some who really don't WANT to pay are calling for all these carries/help for HM bosses for Ults and whatever else.
I think once they get their finances under control there COULD be some QoL improvements, they have to eat like the rest of us, pay for gas, or whatever, baby sitter lol, server maintenance, AC bills, takes money to run a business even if they work from home there's still some 'paying the piper' to keep your business afloat.
