It is more like "Pay to not be extremaly inconvenienced"
You aren't extremely inconvenienced. You are just skipping a part of the grind. You still need to run locations and different bosses to gain modules/parts/resources for other things that you cant buy.
P2W means paying to win something. What are you possibly winning in a PVE coop game? At least in POE, you can brag about your build in POE ninja about dealing top DPS. What scoreboard are you competing here?
I think some people just need to realize that grinding stuff isn't for them. That's tottally fine. There are a bunch of games out there that don't require you to grind and guarantee you a reward after (Downed X boss or XX min of play time).
Don't worry unless you are into some silly race. F2P grind is very satisfying.
Part of that is creating walls in the game that are not just challenging, but flat out painful to overcome.
These walls are generally so tedious that they diminish the fun of the game because they require looping the same content for far too long.
You can pay your way through every wall I've experienced so far, and I'm only missing 2 achievements in the game (which you can also pay your way to get.)
Trying to cope your way into believing a free 2 play game isn't pay 2 win, is flat out cringe.
Nobody cares if you're playing a pay 2 win game, it's not going to hurt your imaginary gamer cred. You'll be ok.
A lot of people wanna rush into it and complain about the ultimate descendants but truthfully... You get bunny early the best farmer in the game to grind out mods and everything. Then you get Freyna and others for free. You can buy all the ultimate descendants but what's the point if your mods are straight doo doo butter, you will be a liability whether its ultimate or not.
You just gotta play the game and you will be fine. Especially now with Hard matchmaking and vault rare materials dropping from regular dungeons its insane!. There is really no reason to open up that shop unless you wanna support the game.
Bro really hit me with a "We live in a society" response
You can buy mods and materials that increase your mod capacity.
Best you have is a dismissive comment.
Keep trying to cope your way out of what pay 2 to win means.
"Hurr durr you're paying to skip content so it's like you're losing, it doesn't matter that the content has zero progression for no reason other than to be painful."
why are you so afraid of it being called p2w? just own up to it. this is what you are, someone who dont want to work for anything, achieve anything. just have it to flaunt it. this is what you like. why decieve not just everybody else but even your own self. rip off the mask and be the shallow person you know you have always been.
admitting your own desires is liberating. do it or ♥♥♥♥♥.
How is this grind of running locations endlessly any different from dying to a boss 20 billion times in souls? This is the equivalent of paying your friend 5 bucks to help you beat a boss in dark souls. The CORE of these games is to min/max your character. You skip that with resources and you have effectively ridden yourself of the dopamine that comes from hard work.
cause by that standard, every f2p game is p2w
Souls games have a story and a conclusion.
This game doesn't.
By your own definition the point of this game is to acquire power and beat content more quickly.
If I can pay my way to level cap to start acquiring end game gear before you, I'm paying to win.
If you can pay your way through walls that halt progression before you've even reached end game, you're paying to win.
You're wrong. Your philosophical debate around "What is a game?" is weak and short sighted. Playing Pay 2 Win games isn't a big deal. Trying to move the goal posts on what Pay 2 Win means is way worse.
Why lick corporate boot like this? Why split hairs on what is and isn't pay 2 win? What a joke.
IMO Some people just label things differently to convince themselves that ANY game is not by design P2W.
It takes time for devs to develop games and it NEEDS to get PAID. Gamers exchange money or time. It is how it works.
