Weapon min/maxing (Thunder Cage/Tamer/Eternal Willpower)
Like title says this is about min/max weapons most notably about the stats on it. I haven't tried the Eternal Willpower weapon but hear good things about it.

Myself I am wonder what the "ideal" stats would be for both TC and Tamer. Tamer is my boss weapon and while TC is my more general mobs weapon and weapon I switch to when Tamer runs out of bullets during boss fights untill I pick up more.

I currently have this (not min maxed yet):

What do you all think about having something like xyx element atk on here and can that not be better to just use a module for that?

On tamer for example fire attack wont be ideal for all colossi so wouldn't it be best to avoid that on the weapon and instead use a module for the elemental weakness?

Wouldn't it be better overall to use:

Firearm atk
Firearm crit hit rate
Firearm bonus atk against colossi
weak point damage

Wouldn't this better over all for all colossi as long as you module in the element weakness specific to each boss?

Also how many "gold rolls" can you have?

Also if I build Tamer specifically for colossi bosses and keep TC more general for mobbing would something else be preferable on TC as rolls?

I know ideally in world where you have unlimited resources you could build one TC and one TAMER specific for EACH boss and hardcore min/max that way but for my purposes whe I say min/max I mean for colossi bosses in general and not specific to one.

for a colosus wep,

-id go for, your set up also
Firearm atk
Firearm crit hit rate
Firearm bonus atk against colossi
weak point damage

but you have to remember if your crit rate is low, it might not even be worth it.
i think tamer is 10%, so if you go a crit build you might hit like 16% crit.
saw a youtube video where some guy did a crit vs weak point build, and overall teh weak point build got consistent faster kill times in hard mode.

Yeah I think I want a weak point build on Tamer but what would you then replace firearm crit rate with that would be better for all colossi?

Firearm ATK and crit are universally good, as well as elemental damage or firerate. The rest mostly depends on the situation

So decide what the weapon is supposed to be for and for that, read about its effect. Thunder Cage creates electric explosions upon an enemy death, so it's extremely good at killing big heaps of enemies, but since you're not really killing colossi over and over again, that effect doesn't get used there that much.

For now it's obviously good to use that as long as you've no other weapon, but when you can get your hand on more, rather use Thunder Cage for grinding and another weapon which is stronger against single target for the colossi.

You can have everything on gold when you reroll long enough. It obviously just gets progressively more expensive, the more stats you're locking. That's also why you should always produce the control axis non-stop, as you can easily eat up hundreds of them in no time.

Yes that what I said in my posts, I generally use TC for mob clearing along with bunny's V and use Tamer for bosses or colossi fights and only switch to my scout rifle if out of bullets for Tamer.

Like I said I want Tamer to be my colossi/boss weapon and Tamer to be my mobbing weapon.

I got this so far, waiting on another stack to adjust more.

I'd honestly expect the tamer to get a balance pass, it sits so far above everything else that it will cost nexon money as no one will upgrade other weapons.

Though, if you do the math yourself, you'll see the dps number they give is not actually strictly correct?...

Edit.
Probably best to not run 2 general rounds weapons seeing as they pull from the same ammo pool.

so if i was building the gun I want it would be this.

python - no crit as pythons crit rate is an abysmal 5%
-poison atk
-firearm atk
-extra ammo or dmg to colossi
-weakpoint

tamer for bossing - 10% base crit is so low, I personally wouldnt bother, unless u want to do a crit build

-firearm atk
-weakpoint - assuming you will hit weakpoints
-dmg to colossi
-poison atk - even if a moster has resistance to it its should still do some damage

-yeah I like poison atk, since if some1 has a python it will boost my dmg,
-but not both at the same time as they share same rounds.

Yeah I mispoke earlier and switch from tamer to my scout rifle when out of bullets but its general not a huge problem seeing as general rounds are pretty common and reload from the ammo bot.

I am aware the Tamer may get nerf but not sure it will as from what I am hearing the meta is shifting now to the ultimate weapons cause while their base dps may be lower their special abilities can have a huge impact...

I am hearing something about the pything in particular being good but dunno I am happy to play with the Tamer for now cause it pretty darn good AND pretty darn cheap mod since its a purple weapon, so not sure the Tamer will be nerfed.

Haha speaking of the python!...lol

Yeah I think I may cut out the crit roll and put something else right now I have:

Weak Point Damage Gold Roll at 11.7% (max is 12%) *keeping
bonus firearm atk (vs colossus) gold roll 3309 (max is 3404) *keeping

The other two are crap purple and blue so rerolling those, I still need firearm atk and one other I am not sure what yet.

Late reply to the thread as I had a vet appoint with my kitty.

The ultimates seem very situational based on the character you play as, as I play ajax, none of them really appeal that much, plus, I'm not a big fan of how they look overall.
Cold_Blade Jul 10, 2024 @ 3:13pm
Not sure why everyone hates on crit builds? While yes the % chance is low, you could just go full crit damage.. 10% of your shots doing x4-8 damage is still pretty good i'd say. But really a mix of weak point, crit damage and fire arm atk % probably the best bet, though I've invested in doing crit chance and crit damage with firearm atk% for right now

For reference, my stats right now are 25k attack, 15% chance and x4 crit damage at lvl 100 weapon

Imo weakspot dmg isn't worth rolling for if you already got a decent roll on elemental damage. Tamer isn't that accurate.
