For those who don't want to play anymore or had their fill
This is for the players who tried the game for several hours and found the game grind to be too much, the monetisation over the top, the gameplay loop too repetitive, or just got board.

Instead of using the Steam Uninstall game function, I recommend Revo Uninstaller (or similar software). To use the software correctly i recomend watching a YouTube video, Jays2Cent has a good one explaining it. This is not a paid endorsement/advertisement

This mostly because to the invasive Kernel Level Anti-Cheat (ie root kit) that NEXON employs on top of EAC, and who know what other background processes to collect massive amounts of user data to give to 3rd party resellers. Dont be shocked, we all had to say "yes" to that agreement before playing the game or else we couldn't play.

What Revo Uninstaller Does
  • Complete Removal: Revo Uninstaller not only removes the main program files but also searches for and deletes leftover files, folders, and registry entries that are often left behind by the default uninstallers.
  • Advanced Scanning: After running the program's built-in uninstaller, Revo performs a deep scan to identify and remove remnants that the default uninstaller might have missed.
  • Forced Uninstall: This feature allows you to remove stubborn or partially uninstalled programs that cannot be removed using standard methods.
  • Logs Database: Revo maintains a database of logs for many known programs which can be used to uninstall applications more effectively.
  • Backup System: Before making any changes, Revo creates backups of the removed registry entries, files, and folders to allow recovery in case something goes wrong.
  • Hunter Mode: This mode lets you drag and drop the program icon into Revo to initiate the uninstall process, useful for uninstalling programs that may not be listed in the usual Add/Remove Programs list.

Benefits of Using Revo Uninstaller Over the Basic "Uninstall" Function in Steam
  • Thorough Cleanup: The default Steam uninstaller removes the main game files but often leaves behind residual files, folders, and registry entries. Revo Uninstaller’s advanced scanning ensures a more complete removal.
  • Performance Improvement: Leftover files and registry entries can clutter the system, potentially slowing it down. Revo helps maintain system performance by ensuring that all remnants are cleared out.
  • Disk Space Recovery: By removing all residual files, Revo can help free up additional disk space that would otherwise be occupied by leftover data.
  • Problematic Uninstalls: Sometimes, a program’s default uninstaller might fail or encounter errors. Revo's Forced Uninstall feature can handle these problematic scenarios effectively
  • Enhanced Control: With features like Hunter Mode and a detailed log of activities, Revo provides more control and insight into the uninstallation process, making it easier to manage installed software.
  • Prevention of Conflicts: Leftover registry entries and files can sometimes cause conflicts with new installations or updates. Revo reduces the risk of such issues by ensuring a cleaner uninstall.

Comparison with Steam Uninstall
  • Steam Uninstall: Designed primarily for convenience, quickly removing the main game files but potentially leaving behind user settings, save files, and other residual data.
  • Revo Uninstaller: Focuses on thoroughness, ensuring that every component associated with the program is removed, which is particularly useful for users who want a clean system without remnants of uninstalled software.

But what if I play on a Steam Deck? Do I need to do this deep clean up as well?

Got to 8 hours playtime and soon hit the point where the entire gaming experience becomes so anal that it could only appeal to a try-hard with no life and off the scale levels of OCD. It's at this point with F2P games that I consider them disrespecting my gaming time and I hit that uninstall button to make room for something more enjoyable. Shame really as the art style is amazing and it was generally fun until that point but I have better things to do with my time.

No reason to use any 3rd party stuff to uninstall. Last I've checked their kernel driver wasn't even installed/running while playing TFD (might be different on your devices), only EAC (Easy Anti-Cheat) was active.

After uninstalling, check "NGS" service (display name "Nexon Game Security Service") was removed and %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Nexon (typically resolves to "C:\ProgramData\Nexon") directory was deleted.

If you’re suspicious, you can always block it in Windows Firewall.
