Weapon Proficiency mastery xp rate?

edit - Lvl 40 Weapon gives 1k Mastery per weapon

(unsure if Ultimate give more XP at 40 or Blue weapons give less at 40 still checking)

It appears you get most of your Weapon XP for last hit (kill) only. ex. 3 on Patrol lvl 100 - 20 xp each for little guys and 40 xp for bigger one in patrol. 200 xp for bigger ones obviously more for tough ones and yellows

Anyone know what kind of xp we get from leveling weapons? Is it based on kills with weapons for weapon prof xp or is it damage and how much mastery per weapon prof level? Does hitting weapon prof 40 give any kind of boost for xp because its very very low atm.

2 days of leveling weapons and only about 3-4k mastery. I have 5 descendant, it seems that only unlocking more descendants and leveling them will get me to Mastery 20 anytime this year.

so the weapons do gradually increase like how the descendant does when it levels. but of course just like warframe, descendants give you more mastery then the weapons.
