No pity system, weird drop chances, and an awful online co-op concept
As the title says, the pity system just doesn't exist in this game, and the chances feel rigged.
You can go for hours, tens of runs of the same exact mission, only for you to not get an item with a 20% or even 50% drop chance, and there isn't even a guarantee, that you'll get it after your 20th, 30th, 50th, 100th run either.
I have managed to get gold modules and transcendent or whatever (character-specific, red) modules, each having a 2% or 1.2% chance respectively, several of each, but not a 20% drop chance item (Freyna's Enhanced Cells), whilst other people have already been running around with Freyna already unlocked and trying to swipe any Freyna Enhanced Cells discussions under the rug with the words: "But I got it on my 1st/2nd/3rd try, it's just about luck."

Sorry, but this ain't even about luck anymore.
After 10 runs, you SHOULD start having a 90% chance to get it due to how chances and probability actually work, and after 21 runs you should expect to get it guaranteed.
But no, me and a lot of players have already been running it past 21 attempts, without managing to get the item.
The fact, that you can't even really speedrun the mission, due to there being a fixed timer on the defense/capture objective, is awful.

I have quite literally beaten the entire "Normal" map, each piece of my gear being at lvl 100 after two hard mission completions, but I still haven't been able to receive the Freyna Enhanced Cells.

In regards to co-op
Funny how Warframe manages to get coop/matchmaking right, but The First Descendant manages to fail in it's entire concept:

First Descendant - Open world has no scaling when it comes to the number of players, each area is locked to 4 players max (meaning that if you are doing a mission and the others have already done the mission, expect no help whatsoever). You always have to join a matchmade open-world, even if you just want to chill, quite literally ruining the experience for other players by doing so. Shelters/closed instances make enemy HP scale with the amount of players, making it so that if everyone is at the recommended level of the shelter and clearing it out for the first time, they will be dealing barely any damage to the same exact copy-pasted "boss" enemy, that has several healthbars and orbs, which prevent damage and in several cases, just refuse to be destroyed/instantly regen (even in the case of the ones you have to destroy in a specific order). And once the run is over, each player gets to roll from their reward table, with not a single variable being affected by the number of other players.

Amorphous material - You can only see yours, can only receive/choose your reward, and can only increase the chances slightly once, regardless of how many players are in the party, even though a full party of 4 basically brings no benefit to colossus fighting, except for the instances when you yourself are practically useless at doing the fights solo, though in those cases you're oftentimes only a detriment to the party regardless. And as if that wasn't enough, so far, you can only open them by doing colossus fights, which aren't endless, meaning that you have to rerun the same fight, loading in and out each time, in order to try to get another reward.

Endless missions - There aren't endless missions, they end after a specific interim, and the difficulty curve is too sudden (even overlevelled gear will suddenly stop being as useful after a single interim passage suddenly, from instakilling enemies to enemies tanking 4 headshots with a handcannon). There are no drops from enemies in these missions, making it so that you can't even farm them despite the fact, that the entire intention for these missions is the ability to farm them endlessly for rewards.

Mission types - Oh god, each mission consisting of a description that doesn't even tell you what the mission is going to be about, and constant shifting of objectives (Clear this area > Capture these points > Kill these enemies over and over until they drop a bomb > Take that bomb and put it to one of these 4 points > Now do that 3 more times). Story missions? Yeah, we don't do that here, it's the same exact thing but with a few more voicelines.

Warframe - Open world has no scaling when it comes to the number of players, the entire world is locked to 4 players but once a mission starts, everyone is doing the mission (they can choose to ignore it, but won't be able to start a different one in the meantime). Normal difficulty closed instances don't scale HP of enemies with the number of players, but scale the amount of enemies instead (so more enemies = more resources/mods/XP and loot overall), only bosses scale in HP and not even that much. You can boot up an open world solo and do missions or chill, without ruining other people's experiences. Steel path/hard difficulty instances and even the open world, scale the HP and Armor (damage reduction) of enemies with the number of players, but the number of enemies is constant (always at max even if you are solo), meaning that even though the random loot of enemies doesn't increase in hard mode as a full group, everyone gets the same loot regardless of the party size, but Steel Path/hard difficulty missions bolster even more rewards (quite literally doubling chances and drops). There are specific missions (sorties, archon hunts, deep archimedea, archon shard hunts), that have specific restrictions and even more negatives for you to experience, though with more rewards as a bonus. All missions increase in the number of enemies you have to kill, things you've got to collect, with the number of players playing alongside you.

Relics - You can see everyone else's, can choose yours or the reward of others (if another player chooses yours, you get void fragments, if you choose theirs, they get void fragments), you can use void fragments on the relics to increase the chances up to three times, and some relic missions are endless, allowing you to open several relics in one run with your party.

Endless missions - Actually exist, enemies still have their normal drop chances, and there are even specific tiles/missions which add a bonus to resources, be it via boosting XP gain for specific weapons and resource gain, or by giving you a specific resource as an extra to your drops.

Mission types - WIth the exception of a few that constantly change between a set amount of mission styles (Duviri Circuit, Archon Hunts, Deep Archimedea), each mission is just 1 objective and it's done. And each mission type has a certain word attributed to it, like "Extermination", "Capture", "Defend", "Sabotage", "Assassination", that directly tell you the formula and entire objective the mission is going to be about. Story missions are a thing, and with the exception of the very early ones, there is an actual story of the game for you to follow and experience, with missions that differ from the typical mission styles (Though if they come out in an update alongside a new gamemode/mission style, the story mission will serve as an introduction to the gamemode by containing an easier version of it more often than not).

That's because the chances *are* rigged. Nexon has a patent for this.

Drop cahnce is obviously rigged.

When you have 3 of the 4 pieces and make subsequent rolls, the drop chance just goes down

One thing I've managed to forget to add:

The First Descendant has no trading, so if you already farm out the rewards that you don't want anymore, yet still get them in the future, you can't give them to others in exchange for something you want.
Warframe does have trading, and you can even go as far as to trade relics (the equivalent of amorphous materials) and the rewards from said relics (even Prime parts, which are akin to Ultimate parts), and is pretty much the main reason as to why Warframe is still played and downright thriving till this day.

Yea the drop rates are just lies.
I've gotten a 5% drop rate item like 8 times in a row and like 15 time total and not a single 3% after opening like 50 of them.

sense when was gamba not rigged?
F2P > your entire post. Don't like it? Uninstall it and move along. But todays society is full of opinionated fools, sadly.

Proof: I've used 5 or 6 catalysts on my main, with 1 crafting and 1 ready to craft. And I literally haven't farmed but maybe 30 minutes for stuff. I'm STILL confused why people are complaining. No one is holding a gun to your head to pay2progress OR have a F2P game installed. JFC.

When pity systems were invented
You are meant to win, even if just slightly, after a certain point to keep your hopes up
Both when it comes to gacha (guaranteed ****Star characters after 10 - 100 pulls) and slots (after 10 spins, a guaranteed small win that won't give you back the money in it's entirety, but will make it so you keep spinning in hopes of winning more)

But The First Descendant doesn't even attempt to have something like this
It quite literally fills the mission loot tables with things you will never want (reactors and weapons, that already drop from normal enemies), and unironically rigs the chances against you with no pity system to keep you going.
Yeah. I know Nexon has a horrible history with drop chance, but it's so blatantly happening in this game. Drop rates are being throttled the more you farm. You can not play for a day and you'll get what you want but if you farm for a long time, you just start getting less and less of what your farming. I think people will start catching on. The rates these items SAY they drop at are not horrible, but when your farming them, they just don't drop after farming for a while.

I know people are comparing to warframe, but they are really similar, even in their grind and drop rates so I'll use it too. When farming in warframe, even when the drops are really similar, and mission runs are longer, I get what I'm farming far quicker more consistently than in First Decendant. I think First Decendent is fun, but the annoyances and bs here and there ruin the game. If this game wasn't published by Nexon, it would have a bigger chance of actually being up there with warframe in the long run. But as more and more people get into the late game grind, more people are going to start quickly getting out of the honeymoon stage and realized how ♥♥♥♥ the drop rates are and how blatantly they aren't what it says they are.

Like I was farming 20% drop for hours with 3 others in a mission that takes literally 15-30 sec to complete for hours and got 2... Nobody with a brain will believe that the rates are correct.

Making the drop rates insufferable will not make people play longer. This has never worked and will never work.

I REALLY want this game to pop off, but the rates grind and how boring it can be grinding hours for one mat for one item is going to drain the payer base. There is soo many things to grind, I just don't think it's necessary to make the rate this way to keep players playing. We need to grind things to be able to access the other thing so we can grind the thing we actually want to grind for. The rates being bad multiplies how bad it is. People defending this are actually coping and more people will feel it once they get into the actual late game grind. Just wait until people actually start doing the math and testing the drops like they are with the mods.

And this isn't even talking about the monetization, because if the grinding wasn't as bad as it is, I wouldn't even care about the monetization at all.

Also, the fact there is no matchmaking in hard mode dungeons is so unnecessary and anti-fun. I hate it when games do this. Let people play hard mode together through matchmaking.... Nobody want to find a group or play through these boring as dungeons alone. The reason they are even a little enjoyable is because I was playing with other.... You don't have to have skill to be good at this game. No matchmaking for had mode makes absolutely 0 sense.

Yeah, that's quite literally one of the worst opinions in regards to any negative post.
"Hurr durr you don't like it, so just uninstall it and go on" - doesn't bring anything to the conversation at all, along with not even slightly helping the game in the long run.

The fact, that you have to pay for something in order to get it (characters in this instance), just for you to still have a chance to get them in the future (and outright need to farm them in order to complete several quests, including Ultimate characters, which WILL need you to farm for over 400 hours), is awful.
-Edit: In regards to the post above, yeah, you quite literally don't even have any way to make use of duplicate characters yet-
And you even remotely sweeping it under the rug is even worse.

Nice "proof". I farmed for multiple 20% drop items and they dropped at first, but later in the day they stopped dropping entirely. Nexon is known to throttle and mess with drop chances. They not only have a patent for it, but have literally been in a lawsuit just 6 months ago and lost proving that they messed with drop rates for 10 YEARS in one of their games. Where people were farming for 1% drop chance and it was proven to be 0%. It wasn't possible. This was done by the South Korean Govt. I understand people like you LOVE to lick the boot, but this ♥♥♥♥ is undeniable. You could not care about it all you want, but most people do. Wanting the game to be better is good for you too, but your so busy licking the ♥♥♥♥ off of Nexon's boot to care.
