But you do need a pre-made for hard dungeons as there is no match-making for it. Which is a dumb mistake by the devs, as those are actually totally doable with random idiots. Difficult with randos, but doable.
So just make a pause every now and then, that's pretty much what most people did in Warframe as which is the reason why it's still as popular as it is, but somehow some TFD-players seem to expect, that a burnout through constantly playing this game is more desirable than just stepping a month or two away from the game when it starts to become a chore.
Since this is a life service game, new content in forms of maps, missions, chars and more ways to optimize your chars can be expected.
What do you mean by armor slots? If you refer to something like equipable armor that grant defensive stats, that where character modules as well as reactors and such come into play, they're just called differently.
And if you refer to saving presets, you can do that already with the button below the weapons.
SPOILER ALERT. DO NOT read from here unless you finished the main story. To add to my comment, it seems some of the real endgame bosses are yet to come. For example, we never got to fight Karel, and also, I think some of the Magisters on the council are going to turn on us based on the choices made with the iron heart being destroyed.
The Magisters wanted the iron heart, not have it destroyed. That was the agreement between humanity and the Magisters. Some of the magisters like Anais is cool with us, but the others (which we haven't encountered yet), who knows what will happen..
