What does skill power do for Ajax's dimension (shield) abilities?
Hey all,

I was trying to understand this game better, and looking at the abilities page, it says both of Ajax's dimension abilities scale off HP and DEF. There is no mention of skill power boosting it.

Does that mean that Materialized Phase reactors (Non Attribute, Dimension) are a waste for Ajax, and it's better to use Materialized Mechanics reactors (Non Attribute, Tech)?

from my understanding you hit the nail on the head there

Thanks, it's just confusing because why would you create a reactor that does nothing? Then I realized that the water girl's dimension abilities do have damage.

Yes I do think for Ajax you want Materialized Mechanics.

Hi! I actually just tested this and it increases the damage reflected. It actually does say "defense follow by skill power" so I used two different reactors on the same low level targets in the same fight. The "max damage reflected" is either a cap, or the rate of conversion, BUT using two different reactors I got 34 damage reflected, and then swapped to one with 280% more skillpower and it did 117 damage (an increase of about 280%)

Testing method was same low level enemies, in the same encounter, left combat, changed reactor, went back and literally reflected damage on to the same individual mobs. I only used that one skill two times after entering the map so I'd be very surprised if I somehow got an enhanced skill off.

So better to use tech reactor to boost AOE damage skills.

Thank you for testing.
You mentioned that it does say "defense followed by skill power". Where did you read this?

My pleasure! if you check the active skill descriptions for orbit barrier, it's the last line of text. It says "max reflection damage rate is based on defense followed by skillpower" but I think what shows up in the tooltip is the % rate by which it is boosted, always a default 100% and then the modified is actually the rate after other gear modifiers, not the numerical damage you can reflect. The RAW on this one is maybe a little misleading, or the translation is slightly off. Not sure if that 100% is how much of the enemy damage you can deflect, or how much of your Defxskillpower is converted to your max reflect. That might be harder to test with my inventory

As an Ajax Main I was kind of wondering this too. Thanks for the research.

Now if the shields could just stop incoming AOE's? That'd be great!
