All in all skill issue ig
Oh wait till people try hanged man with randoms.
Farm some resource and enhance your weapon with electric conversion mod. and speed & ATK max out your DPS.
As for armors gear yourself with def ,HP and toxic resistance .
better reach toxic 2500+.
core attibute is ATK FIRE RATE AND Electric.
Use a heavymachine gun or shot gun with max DPS to deal with the pillars.
Sometimes solo is easier than a squad.
I feel you bro, on my side i don't want to bother farming especially since it's boring to do in this game, so i just get carried for damages (and i don't feel guilty about it, swear at me if that can relief you).
For survivability it's not that bad thoo, as with fight knowledge all attacks patterns can be evaded more or less consistently with the grapple and dodges.
I haven't gotten any electric conversion mods. I am mastery 12 and have pretty much all my mod capacities maxed, and the highest-level gear I can have up to this point is level 53. Just can't get into a group that has enough damage. Surviving it isn't a problem though, so I guess that's good.
That said, Devourer was a cakewalk for me while bride was a very close call.
With Ajax I mostly used a level 53 fire enhanced machinegun with 63k dps (in module window) and a shotgun with 99k dps for the healing drones.
It might also be better to do it solo if everyone isn't pulling their weight and you never know with random players.
Just grab the tamer and set it up for boss killing, it's all I did, then hope you get 3 team mates who have done the same.
First 4 or 5 runs I was killing 2 pylon things before my team mates collectively killed one, they also died on stop, then I got a team where just 1otger person had the basics covered like I did and it was pretty easy.
Edit.
My gun was like 42k dps I think, I had a hand cannon and a random best roled sniper, think he was weak to electric?
The just had a lvl 4 toxic resist and a upgrade thing with a further 1000 resist, was lvl 24 when I fought him, so my health was only like 2.5k and 16k def.
Ajax's reflect shield does a bunch of damage if you place it in the big crystals he fires out :)
I can't wait for you guys to be carried and then make a new topic once you hit Pyromancer, Hanged Man or, god forbid, bosses in hard mode.
The game REALLY isn't that hard
Pyro was easier than Devourer for some reason.
This boss is a DPS check, a DPS check is not an issue of difficulty or skill, what difficulty comes from is attack patterns and unique mechanics, this boss has neither, it attacks from distance, stomps if you get too close, and has orbs give it an invincibility phase, this is literally 99% of bosses in this, and many other games.
The problem from this mission comes from absolute rank amateur design from people that don't know their butt from a hole in the ground. A boss can have a time limit, it can have an invicibility phase, it can have regenerating health, or it can recover a limited amount of times, it cannot, by any intelligent design, have all of these and have the recovery phases not limited. This was a poorly designed and implemented roadblock. And ultimately if not fixed it will be one of major downfalls of the game, this is a F2P title meaning it needs people to engage with monetization, lot of people will hit this boss, realize there's no point in wasting time on the game, and leave without spending any money, ultimately is bad for the game.
That's the true issue here that nobody is discussing. It's not a matter of players needing to survive the boss, it's a matter of the game needing to survive what the boss is going to do to the playercount.
Anyone calling this a skill issue probably suffers from heavy inbreeding in the last couple generations of their family, and that's the truth. You know nothing about game design and you're patting yourself on the back over imaginary prestige, nobody cares about your "skills" I'm replying to you and I've already forgotten your name.
Yeah all it takes is for one idiot to not grab the cube or shoot the cannon to fail that with randos.
so many cringe ass people trying to flex in a gooner game.. damn
-the machine gun 'tamer' will make the fight easier
-you can get it by farming 'Agna Desert - Miragestone Outpost'
-with enought toxic resistance you can just tank the toxin while shooting the pylons
