I have been checking that setting every single day, if perhaps its set to private, its ALWAYS on public ... and there are barely any players in the overworld mission.

Well maps only shard to 4 players.... so it could be no1 is running the missions your are OR no1 is currently on the same map. I dunno; didn't have that problem... well; more now I'm on hardmode but that's understandable

It's odd that a few people say the world is empty and matchmaking doesn't work. There's only been a few times the "open world" has been completely empty for me. Usually always have 2-3 people running around. And the dungeons matchmaking takes less than 10 seconds.

This is in normal difficulty as I haven't yet beat the campaign to get access to hard mode.
If you're playing on hard mode then it's understandable it's barren as I don't think many people have completed the campaign yet.

i added you on steam so once i have done with my McDonald's i will play, depending on where you are in the story worlds are not gonna have many players seem not many have reached end game and as for Hard Mode that requires a team seem there's no Matchmaking on hard and that's also not going into how many are playing Private Lobbies.

When you move to a map, you are only paired with 3 other players. The maps will not be hopping full. If you join a map where the other players are doing the missions in a different order, or have finished just before you joined, it will appear empty and more will join soon. What I have done is to open the map once arrived, and see where other players are doing the missions and join them, or leave the map and go back for a new group.

Pretty sure the number of people on map is capped to be party sized, that is 4, including you. Regardless of how many people are there overall.

And seeing how freakishly fast matchmaking is even in dead hours of the night, I really doubt there isn't a hell lot of people playing. So no, not fake people.

open world lobbies are limited to 4 players and it usually won't take that long to fill a lobby.

Though, just because others are in a lobby doesn't mean, that they're your slaves and always do the same missions as you. They actually have their own plans on doing stuff or do missions in a different order.

And on top of that, this is a two-way problem btw. It's not just them who don't care about joining your missions, but you as well don't seem to care looking out for players who're already in a mission you could join. Obviously they just might do a mission you've already done or where you don't need the drops from, but you can't expect from others, what you don't want to do as well.

There was a bug I had where I got no players at all, but restarting fixed it. I think they fixed it in 1.01 though.

Other than that, I'm on Hard now but I do go back and farm mats in the lower tiers sometimes. Like I was just getting the mats for Divine Punishment. But then you get people complaining that I'm blazing through and they don't get to play. So idk lol.

Must be a bug. Been playing everyday since day one, never did a single dungeon solo, and maybe only 30% of the missions were solo.

You don't know much about sharding or instancing do you ? Or why a dev might decide to do this ?

Could be your server, I never struggle to go into somewhere and do world missions with people in EU, where about an are you doing world missions? Like what section of the map, if it’s really early or late, it’s possible people just aren’t really there

seems when people leave a zone it doesn't repopulate, at least that was my experience.

I would do a hard mission or two with people and after they left the instance wouldn't get more people
