Loss of FPS when tabbing out and back into the game
Did anyone else notice that the more you alt+tab in and out of the game the more fps you lose? Went from 160 to about 90 in the same area after tabbing out a few times. Not to mention it starts to stutter quite a bit, compared to the smooth gameplay before.

No, it's not an issue with hardware. The fps don't return to normal unless I restart the game. Changing the graphics settings doesn't help. My gpu driver is up to date, so is the os. I do not have anything overclocked, temps are normal. Gpu is at 62 at most, cpu at 56 celsius. Verifying the game files also didn't help, neither did reinstalling the game.

Specs:
GPU / RTX 4060Ti 8gb
CPU / i7 11700f 8/16 5.1ghz
RAM / 2x16gb 3200mhz ddr4
DRIVE / 3500/3000 nvme m2 drive
OS / Win 11

I have a similar issue.
After alt+tab, when I have enemies nearby and when I move the mouse cursor, the fps get very lower

Strangely, this issue disappears when I press and hold any of the mouse buttons.
So I have to play with the button on the side pressed...

I had this issue . So now I run a laptop for other things that I would usually alt tab out for

For FPS loss:

Try running the game at the same res as your desktop (won't work if you have any upscaling method on)
Try running the game on borderless window (always works)

For stuttering:

decrease your mouse's polling rate to 500hz or lower. For me it only solves the issue temporarily, after teleporting to/from some places it'll start again, then i change the polling rate up and down again and it gets back to normal. Annoying, but is a workaround until they fix it.

I always do. The polling rate doesn't matter, it's always on 500hz. 1000hz and more is pointless, especially since it creates spikes in cpu usage. The gameplay is buttery smooth, apart from what I've described in the post.

Like I said, the gameplay is smooth until I alt tab. Sometimes it doesn't trigger the stutters, sometimes it does. Doesn't matter what I'm doing then, until I restart the game it just doesn't go away. When I restart it, the gameplay is smooth without any stutters.

Same is happening to me, if I alt tab the game becomes unplayable until I restart it. Currently using an 4070tisu

When you tab out its for a reason. Are you looking something up on You Tube, or some website? Those things take more ram than you would think. Specially if you leave them in the background. With 8g of Vram I would definitely be watching my Ram expenses. Also close down any normal background processes you normally would leave up. This game running on Unreal 5+, The days of 8g Vram are dying quickly.

They do not take more ram for me mate. I have Opera GX and hard limited the ram usage to 3gb. I have 32gb in total, 2x16. Max my browser ever used was 4gb and that was with about 70 tabs opened.

My PC has 32GB RAM and my GPU has 24GB VRAM, and I also have this issue. RAM isn't the issue here, something in the game isn't working how it should be.

The fact that the game stutters unless you are pressing down a button on the mouse is just strange in the first place, as well as turning down your mouses polling rate causing less stutters. It shouldn't happen like that.

Play in Boardless window mode of course you lose FPS this way then in full screen but i do it all the time and it is working fine so i dont have the problems with tabing out and in.
If you have Boardless window and still have this FPS Drops then there is a Programm in the background doing something weried.

Strange dont have this kind of problems and alot of people dont have this kind of problems, why do not try to search for the problem instead of pointing out that the gamer is not working good ? for alot of people it is working good so there can be so many things that can cause this problem and it dont has to be the game itself, you know how many programms your PC runs in the background ? let allone Nvidia and Microsoft gamebar things are very horrible bad for games and can cause this kind of problems.

The day when 8gb Vram died is a lil bit longer ago when games that was not using Unreal Engine consume in 1080p more then 8gb vram, comon in alot of games nowdays.
You hear about Intel Problems where the games say that the game run out of video memorry and the reason was that Intel 13/14th gen CPU's are bad and cause this kind of problems ? Dont tell me you dont hear this issue with Intel ? It was going on for a long time and now people know where the problem is and it is not the games they was playing, it was intel themself in other words, it is not always the developers fault so search for the Problem instead of pointing your finger to someone else.

Are you using HDR or something that change resolution in the game ? DLSS is doing Resolution things so there is alot of things that can happen but somehow if your game stuck after you tab in at 60 fps then the game itself runs maybe in the background, had the problem with MMD avatars on my secound window, when i used FullScreen the System was thinking i was playing a game (MMD avatas who run at 60 fps motions on the other monitor)

Try to play in boardless window mode and look if it is changing anything.
It is always easy to say it is someone others fault that something is not running good but hardware and software problems can have so many reasons that you can just call your doctor and he can give you a 100% accurate Diagnostic without checking you in reality ? Not gonna happen.

Nothing of what you have mentioned happens, so no, that is not the problem. I am not playing on a 10 years old setup that would have issues because I'm playing a game in borderless instead of fullscreen.

It's the borderless window or won't play.
