Dead game until they change some rates around.
Free to try, pay to keep sanity, pay to keep winning.
The only thing you can not farm is descendants slots. But getting 10 characters as F2P player will take you well above 100+ hours. A good amount of gaming time for $0 if you ask me
now its all about how much they charge and for what- looking at the shop and bp ect, its not bad bad however still pricey for what you get.
So yeah, not even close to enough.
"Oh but you could just trade to get that paid currency"
Fair in your eyes, but someone still had to pay for it.
Also they released new weapons, frames, ships, and pets and w/e else I missed the same way you described it with TFD so it's not exactly a Nexon only thing.
There's also another difference in that if you buy a Descendant in this game, it comes completely bare with no catalyst. In Warframe your character comes with a catalyst in it.
The problem isn't that you can buy stuff, it's that if you do it's egregiously expensive when compared to competitors with better reputations and track records that also have way easier free to play options to get these items.
In Warframe you can get these Catalysts and Formas in fairly significant amounts for free in their free battlepass system. You can also trade items in game for the premium currency to buy the items instead of paying yourself.
I get that you can say "oh well other games do it, it's just more expensive" or "oh well it's just how Nexon does stuff" but if players never voice their concerns and ask for something to change then nothing will change or it will get worse. I mean just think, wouldn't it be nice if you could buy stuff in this game for even half the price? Literally nothing bad will happen to you if this happens. Only positive things will come of this.
Warframe, Destiny and other looter shooters will have more competition which will encourage them to make the game better. Competition breeds innovation and by accepting crappy systems in games it kills them and removes competition from the market.
This f2p game is hella expensive compared to other f2p games tbh.
