Bump.. Any help?

There is no requirement to have cursor released in borderless video mode.
Are you saying it's locked in there even if you alt+tab out ?

That is literally what borderless fullscreen is supposed to do. If you want it unlocked hit the esc key or alt tab.

literally just opened the game 10min ago for the first time and cursor being locked unless i alt+tab is the most annoying thing, it's literally THE evil that borderless fullscreen should protect us from, yet it doesn't

The way I structure my Best Practices when passing on projects is that borderless should always lock cursor up until user actually wants it to unlock, i.e. on manual intervention.
The main interactions that should unlock cursor are alt+tab, win key, win+tab, or opening pause menu.

It is specifically designed to have full interactible screen without having to worry about cursor jumping in and out erratically and on its own.

So again, does it not unlock on alt+tab ? If it does, it's as designed and they do use similar BP principles like I do.

Alt-Tab doesn't help people trying to stream with multiple screens. If i open my inventory I want to be able to move my cursor over to my other screen without alt-tabbbing because it screws up the inputs in the streaming software and makes the screen flash to desktop.

Ahhhh... You have a somewhat unique use case... I believe if shift+tab and bring up the steam overlay it also works. Or the win+g for the windows gaming thing probably works as well.

Also just hitting ESC and being on the menu unlocks it.

three things.....

this is absolutely NOT a unique case. This is literally what most PC players do nowadays; they have multiple monitors and expect that when setting the display to borderless full screen that you have freedom to move the mouse to whatever monitor you'd like without interrupting your game. case in point, Diablo allows you to do borderless full screen but added the option to lock your cursor to the game screen.

hitting Esc does not free up your cursor to travel to other monitors, not sure where/how you're coming to that conclusion.

I'm stunned that people posting in this thread are having trouble understanding what the OP is attempting to convey. it real simple folks, borderless window should allow our mouse cursors to explore BEYOND the monitor the game is running on. If not then it is the same as Fullscreen. I don't understand how the devs added the borderless option but did not apply the actual mechanic it's supposed to do.

I agree this is incredible annoying. At least this game isnt like warframe and you have ingame wiki so you dont have to tab out so often. Still realy stupid and annoying.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks this way! I hate having to alt+tab just to go to my second screen when I have borderless window on....

simple command for resize is Alt-Enter.
DudeBro69 Aug 11, 2024 @ 7:31am
You're looking for borderless windowed not borderless fullscreen i think.

Borderless fullscreen protects players from the cursor accidentally going offscreen and downloading prawn.

the 'borderless' bit in the name has nothing to do with how the cursor functions, its to do with the fact, that, you know it has no windows border.

There is nothing you can do to change this as its a tick box in the UE5 development suite and they ticked it
