Why do people dislike Nexon?
Heyo, I’m kinda curious on why people dislike the Nexon company, not that I root for them or anything I’m just not too familiar with the story and drama revolving around them.

I’ve just seen a lot of people claim that the Nexon name on anything’s a bit of a bad omen, what kinda silly sh*t have they gotten up to in order to become a bit infamous?

Except Activators LMAO, holy crap that's got an extra zero it doesn't need XD

Not really. Warframe's battlepass (Nightwave) is free, and more importantly you can earn the premium currency in game through trading. I will say that the cost of the Ultimate bundles is very similar to how much buying both Prime packs would cost in warframe. In my case warframe has also been very generous with %50 off coupons on long in.

1: They always have bad servers. Always.

2: Every single time i have played a Nexon game they do everything they can to both bleed the players dry and then once they have bled every last drop from everyone they can possibly do, they kill the game completely.

2: If the above wasn't bad enough. TWICE, not just once Nexon has been fined for rigging % drop rates.
Want proof? Google it. They weren't even fined like 10 years apart or something. They were fined in something like 2018 then again in 2021 because they were too stupid to learn from their mistake and the fine was so pathetic they realised they could still make more money by rigging the % on drops and then just pay the pitiful fine.

They will say something has an equal drop chance for example.(This was what they did before.) It didn't. The most desired item people wanted to drop had something silly like a 0.00001% drop chance, making it almost impossible to get.
With Nexon you just have to realise that the drop chance you see doesn't exist. It has a chance to drop. However large or small. If you're ok with that, that's fine. Play. I've been playing too. I'm ok with it by a bogus % and grinding my eyeballs out. That's the fun part in these kinds of games imo. If i get it, i get it. If i don't well. Go again! I did however purchase a couple of skins. I'm ok with that too. I am just here to enjoy it while the game is here.
Although, i did purchase the currency 2 hours ago and although it said it went to my mailbox, they are telling porkies. It hasn't. But that's apparently another known issue.

All i can say is "Sigh. Nexon" :lunar2019grinningpig:

I'll add that NEXON also just completely shuts down any over monetized game they can't make money off of. They're called the F2P Games Graveyard for a reason.

I've been following them ever since they started releasing games here in the west and it hasn't been pretty.

I've played a lot of their games, and they all got shut down fairly fast.

All their games are heavily monetized with cash shop and in-game currency prices being on the extreme side compared to most other F2P games out there.

They suck their players dry and have no issues shutting down their games if they're just 0.1% off of their expected earnings for said games. Games people spent a ton of money on i might add, which is extremely disrespectful to their players.

Trading in Warframe hasn't been in a good spot as it has been plagued with hyperinflation for years. Unless you've managed to save up a ton of super rare stuff over the years, you're not likely to make a lot of plat if any at all.

That could be a fair point. I've not played warframe much in a few years and when I did it was on the playstation and was never big on trading. I just think that the fact you CAN earn it does deserve some consideration.

I'm hoping First Descendant makes getting Energy Activators easier or some free with the battlepass because I agree their current price is terrible.

I wouldn't bet on them giving their players anything that can be used for progression/end game progression for free. They never do in any of their games. If they see anything they can overmonetize, they'll do it, and charge extreme prices for it in the process.

Nexon has a long history of making their games super p2w then shutting them down within a year or two. I fear this game will suffer the same fate.

they care more about money than they do the customer an example on my part when it was just wizet I had a problem in maplestory so I went to wizet customer service they responded and had the problem resolved before the end of the day for me, fast forward to nexon acquiring wizet, have the same problem I contact nexon customer service nexon responds to the ticket a year later with a copy and paste reply not even addressing the problem I had. So you can see why I don't like nexon and tried giving them a few chances even giving them a chance in this game but i'm not optimistic. Sidenote I get that they need to make money but they don't need to be so aggressive about it

They literally say that they read your computer information and browser history and that they will also sell/give it to third parties.

Nexon will milk your wallet if you let them. They love the F2P model, but have high prices, mismatched currency drops, etc. Other Nexon games have had crafting ( I think it was Invictus) where you would destroy your weapon if you failed the upgrade. So, you would need a material that they sold in order to guarantee an upgrade and not lose your weapon.

Then you had the Maple Story debacle, where they created a situation in which the most desired stat combinations had a 0% chance of dropping together. This was with a Gacha system, so tons of people were gambling on loot boxes with a guaranteed fail. They got fined by Korea because it got found out.
