Crashing While Playing
I've tried many things, and nothing seems to have alleviated the issue. I played a couple days ago and only had like 2-3 crashes or so after playing around 8 hours. Yesterday and today (after the patch) I'm crashing at least 1-3 times per hour. No error messages, freezes, or hangups, just straight CTD. Since you can't get back to what you were doing (the reconnect literally never works), I'm constantly having to restart/redo things. While the game is fun, this is being a serious hindrance to me playing.

Has anyone else found a solution to the crashing issues? Googling around suggests this is an issue with Intel CPUs and Unreal Engine 5 somehow, but none of the suggested "fixes" work, i.e. BIOS CPU tweaks, latest drivers, updates, etc. I don't have crashing issues like this with any other games I play, even other Unreal 4/5 engine games. I have 0 issues starting the game or loading shaders, that part usually takes 1-5 seconds at most.

I get a pretty stable ~120 fps at 4k (vsync on so maybe higher?) at max settings without frame gen, no stutters other than an occasional maybe 1s freeze every hour or so? I did turn off ray tracing though, it was suggested that may have been an issue but doesn't seem to be crashing any less. I just can't keep the game running, it crashes mid combat or even just idling in the menu.

Setup:

Operating System: Windows 11 Pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 22631)
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: ASUS
Motherboard: ROG Maximus Z790 Hero
BIOS: 2301 (type: UEFI)
Processor: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900K (32 CPUs)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Founder's Edition
Audio Card: Sound BlasterX AE-5 Plus
Memory: G.Skill Trident Z 65536MB DDR5 RAM
Hard Drive(s): Samsung 990 Pro PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD - 2TB (OS drive)
Western Digital Black SN850x PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD - 4TB (Game drive 1)
Western Digital Black SN850x PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD - 4TB (Game drive 2)
DirectX Version: DirectX 12

Graphics Settings:

Display Mode - Borderless Window Mode
Resolution - 3840x2160(16:9)
Ray Tracing - Ultra
DLSS - Quality
Vsync - On
NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency - Enable Boost
Frame Generation - On
Ray Reconstruction - On
Maximum Frame Rate - 120
Advanced Settings - Everything on Ultra
Motion Blur - Off

With these settings I get about 120ish FPS in game. If I turn off DLSS/Frame Generation I get about 70 FPS (with Ray Tracing Ultra at 4k native). If I turn off Ray Tracing I get about 120 FPS again (without DLSS at 4k native).

Troubleshooting steps/changes I've made or looked into:

- BIOS update
- GPU driver update
- Reinstalled Visual C++ Redistributables (all the way back to 2013)
- Windows update
- CPU tweaks in BIOS according to Intel, i.e. reduce power usage and overclock from motherboard
- Intel Optimization Application
- Tweak in game settings. Literally nothing changes. I can run absolute max settings at 4k with ultra ray tracing, or I can run minimum specs in 720p like it's 2002. Still crashes shortly after playing, or if I'm lucky I might get an hour or two before I see one.
- Prayed to God
- Lit some incense to remove the bad juju causing me so many issues with this game

Anyone else have crashing issues and been able to solve them by now?

Same problem here. Crash every 1 to 10minutes, with setup Ultra + DLSS + RayTracing

AMD 5950X + RTX 4090 (MB : MSI x570 MEG Unify)
Everything up to date.
I just reinstalled Win11 this morning + fresh steam install + re-download the game.
Nothing changed.

I will try to disable RT & DLSS, stay connected... :v

@DJaySaint

Consider deinstalling GameFirst VI. Its the network optimiser software that was delivered with your mainboard.

It is still a guess, but I am playing without any problems since yesterday, when I deleted the Killer Network Manager.

I've been crashing a lot after reaching Vespers. Tried reinstalling and whatnot butaside from the Intel CPU problem there seems to be a major issue with something in the game that causes the game to crash especially if your computer isn't brute forcing the problem by being way beyond the necessary specs to run this.
It'll probably be the reason why I stop playing this game if they don't do something about it. ♥♥♥♥ is worst than Helldivers 2 and that game was crashing if you looked at it funny.

I9 14900KF
Asus Z690-E Gaming
32GB G.SKILL
Samsung M2 SSD
Asus TUF 4070Ti video

Same crashes, Windows Event Viewer shows nothing, had some nvidia dll crashing in the past with bad GPU settings but now I undervolted my 4070TI, 2550MHz at 900mV and +1300MHz for memory.

Any other games including Division 2 (which is extremely sensible) are running just fine fore hours. Tried raytracing on/off, ray reconstruction and frame generation on/off (with it ON sometimes got tearing). DLSS ON/Off, tried even 2k and 4k...same crashes

From Crashing file:
<ErrorMessage>Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION 0x0000000000000000</ErrorMessage>

1. Game is excluded in virus protection with full directory and specific game exe file
2. I try setting Power management on custom with Min Processor state 90% and Max State 96% or lower value crash is there
3. Game Crash with turbo bust active or disable from bios or Intel(R) Extreme Tuning Utility so it not mater for ppls who say it is Intel Fault ... usual coder it need to proper use hardware not other way around
4. Game setting are on custom 1980x1080
- Visibility, Anti-aliasing, Textures, Shader Quality, Object are on Medium and everything on Low
- RayTracing, Additional Option, Vsync, Nvidia Reflex, Motion Blur Off
- Additional Option active with varios setting it not help at all at part with crash
5. All suggested fix from many soo called solution not working
6. I uninstall game and fully reinstalled clean but i experience black screen because game was not generate enymore GameUserSettings.ini but because i was backup game setting before reinstalled i succeed to fix this issue place that file were it was suppose to be

8. All crash what i experience over and over are specific in Dungeon, Void boss fight in random moment sometime from beging when load is done or pure random moment. If i play game solo in map and just encounter varios player in map is runing perfect with any issue IF i join to frend party and we try to play together crash it will strike agen on random time
9. All possible Overlay are off (Discord, Msi Afterburner, Steam), i try have discord open in browser or closed and crash are still there
10. i seen in varrios time ppls crash in dungeon on load to and for this dear game dev it need to implement person what experience a DC or crash to not get kick out from party and keep there for a period of time aka give chanse person to get back and not get scrued other ppls

P.S. For ppls who will say my rig is old aka pointing on CPU just do not waste your time, there are many other ppls with stronger configuration what have same issue so chill ...

In my conclusion game it have bugs what need to be fix, address by DEV, i spend to much time trying to fix or find solution so i give up special other games are working fine ...

GL and have a good day

crashing after playing (5sec on desktop) with BSOD KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE all other games, like D2, running fine.
Cursif Jul 8, 2024 @ 9:25am
My game was constantly crashing during the shaders loading screen when first entering the game. I've noticed when I enable ray tracing on medium it doesn't crash anymore. Something is broken in the game. Try it and let me know if it's working.

I don't have either one of those on my computer.

I've tried just disabling ray tracing entirely and it made no difference.

Was having this issue too. Today I swapped RAM, updated BIOS, updated Chipset driver, updated OS, updated GPU drivers, uninstalled 3rd party antivirus, and haven't had a blue screen.

But now Im running into an issue where the game crashes after exactly 10minues. Happened twice and timed both

CPU: 7900X3D not overclocked
RAM: 32gb Corsair at 6000MHz
GPU: RTX 3080

This is looking like The Division 2 when it came out and it would crash for no reason without an error message for a LOT of people. Took them only a few years to fix it so we're in for a ride (One that I will hop off for sure cause ♥♥♥♥ tryiing to do anything only to be starring at your desktop a few minutes in).

i had the issue of the game crashing 100% of the time during a spefic mission in the vespers. i tried it 4 times in a row and crashed every single time.

i updated the geforce driver (didnt do that in a long time)
i updated the bios (2022(f36a) version to 2024(f39a) newest)

the issue is gone now, fixed!

i dont know what exactly fixed it, could be the restarting of the pc, could be the gpu driver, could be the newer bios, could be the cpu undervolt (curve optimizer offset) setting that is now disabled due to bios settings reset. i think the ram frequency is a little different now as well, like 100-200mhz lower but im not sure what i had before. i am not running it at 3800 due to the infinity fabric being slightly unstable at 1900mhz.

specs
5800x3d, rtx3070, aorus x570 pro ax, nvme ssd, 32gb ddr4-3800 trident z, ae-5plus

i hope this helps someone
